Is the iphone not an Apple product now? Even within your list there, Apple commands 1/3 of the articles when they are only 1 of dozens of tech companies, most of which are releasing new products as we speak.

Typical Apple Fanboy article one has come to expect on the HP tech section.

check this statement from comscore

[However, this year, Consumer Reports notes that several Android phones topped the iPhone 4S in terms of ratings. Among the honorees were the Samsung Galaxy S II, the Droid Bionic (both 4G phones with larger display screens) and the LG Thrill (which costs $100 less than the iPhone 4S on AT&T). ]

^^ Severel Android phones topped the iphone 4S

But no..you will not find huge headlines on HP tech about those phones...but about the 4S which ranked LOWER than those ones.

(ps, a good example of how clueless some tech reviewers are, can be seen in their repeated assertion (and absolute joy!) that the iphone4S's browser speed is a split second( does not matter for all intents and purposes) faster than those of certain android phones. However they do not calculate the Data speed of the phones!. The 4S might be marginally faster on browser speed but 7 TIMES SLOWER on data download/upload speed compared to the 4G android phones.

Thus the entire browser speed advantage is totally lost! in other words, android browsers will be about 6-7 times faster than Iphone4S browsers cos the data service is 4G.

but no..such notions are too complex and complicated for apple fanboys.

Why don't you find those articles? Because few comment on them.

However, if you center the article around Apple, all the Apple_haters flock like geese to crap_all over the comment section.

H P could care less about Apple, Android, Google, iOS, MS, etc. But they sure know how to still up the_zealots, be it political or technical. And that means $$$$$.

I just got the IPhone 4S....my very first IPhone. I cannot stress enough how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE this phone! The camera is absolutely fantastic! I have had no issues with the battery life and charging it is so fast! Siri is a great feature although I haven't used that feature a whole lot yet. Just very very impressed!

"Just"???
Yeah. It's still just the most incredible consumer electronic device ever invented. Copied by all - equaled by none.
*Just* that.
02:21 PM on 11/08/2011
Yes, the iPhone 4S would be incredible if it was 2008.

But it's not. Enjoy finally getting features that other phones have had for years already, at least until your battery dies prematurely.
03:59 PM on 11/08/2011
And just because I didn't mention it earlier....out of a century of electronic devices, you pick a phone that duplicated existing functionality as "the most incredible device ever created".

There's no LOL big enough.

I like Androids platform, Google is open to working with other companies to come out with better technology, apple is too closed off and secular.

In exchange for that you get inconsistent quality, fragmentation and updates that take 6 months or more to reach the average device.

Ya but I can video chat w/o WiFi, and 4g speeds are the best! I have Sprint so I do plan on checking out whatever iPhone is out when I hit my upgrade, but I can't complain at all about my Droid phone at all. Competion is good.

More so than most companies, I've found that Apple is nimble in evolving their products. Certainly more so than, say, Microsoft or General Motors.

That's what happens when you user base is small and the products you offer are only meant to be used for a few years. Less than 10% of the world uses Apple's desktop hardware/software and a even smaller percentage are used in enterprise/business places were updates are slow. MS has millions of companies that make software/hardware for their OS and changes come quite slow. Sort of like what Sun Tzu said: when you are big you are slow, but when you are small you are fast. But it depends on what you mean as nimble. MS is great as including new hardware and software into their OS which Apple lags behind (blu-ray, gaming, TRIM, ect).

Well, he thing is Apple is an integrated company, making it's own software and hardware. Microsoft doesn't do this, and neither does the android system. It isn't because of some 'small user base', it was Jobs' plan from the start: integrate and control the environment. It allows Apple products to work seamlessly with one another, while Microsoft struggles.

Apple is a hardware company, so probably a better comparison would be against Dell, Sony, Lenovo, HP, etc. Most of them seem to roll out new products on a fairly regular basis. I'm not sure Apple has any strategic lead here.

But I would agree that by offering a specific set of products, and not trying to be everything to everyone, Apple does maintain a sense of consistency through their product evolution.

one note: apple is both hardware AND software company. And while Jobs was pilloried for that model, it turned out to be the key to their massive success.
