Why is it women always wait a year to 10 years or 20 years to report a sexual crime? Why not do it right away when the person who commits the crime is not famous? In this case the broad goes to a bar, drinks alcohol, get's drunk then goes to this guys apartment? When did she stop having a good time? Unfortunately she has rights and Starlin Castro as well as other famous or soon to be famous men better take notice. The tramps you sleep with today are gonna to be the mamma o yo kids tomorrow! just ask Bill Cosby, Jesse Jackson, Bill Clinton, John Edwards, Ashton Kutcher, Brad Pitt, David Letterman, Tiger, etc....they'll never learn.

Too many holes in the story to get an accurate picture....but...let's look at a couple important facts. #1 - she admits to leaving with the man and going to his "place". #2 - she admits to "blacking out". #3 - he admits that she was there and according to him "gave her consent". Biggest question remaining is was she so infatuated with the fact that he "chose" her IN A BAR but thought he'd "call" her again and when he didn't, she cried foul?

Let her prove it.You do not go back to a Man`s apartment and be so out of control you black out. I guess this woman is a gold digger.

If you get so drunk you lose control it is as good as consent.

Well, it' real hard to "prove" sexual assault cause there aren't usually tons of witnesses around. And I do like your standard for a woman being raped, it's her own damn fault. Good luck with that one.

They had a lady on CSN talk about the legal side of things and the law isn't on Castro's side. Apparently there are new laws that protect against woman who end up these situations where alcohol is involved. Something about the consumption of booze only makes someone give the "illusion" of consent, which seems to be the case here. It's complicated :/

Perhaps he was really drunk and she assaulted him cause he only gave the "illusion" of consent .

Starlin Castro is a Liberal? He's not even an American you jackwagon. Nor is he "rich." the 1-percenters you love to give a free pass to make WAY more than a second-year major-leaguer. Get a clue before you post numerous factual errors in a single sentence.
09:57 PM on 01/06/2012
Not to get into your disagreement with Lordgamble but Castro made $440,000 last season making him one of the 1% (above $340,000) and according to Obama "Rich".

While ESPN wants to make sports stars seem like live action heroes, they are in fact ordinary people with ordinary, or less, people skills and tons of money. Some think they are above social convention and can take sex from any woman as it would be an honor for her to have sex with a hero, and some just are not smart enough to understand that when they nightclub they set themselves up for trouble. The only other millionaires in the clubs are heavily armed drug gangsters. But athletes never seem to learn that they put themselves in bad situations probably because they believe the baloney that ESPN puts out about how important they are and how loved. Several hundred college and professional sports people get in trouble every year, some ending careers with one night of stupidity, and nearly all of the trouble starts in bars and clubs or with girls they pick up there. They are so dumb its hard to be feel bad for them.

ESPN is like all jock strap sniffers....They love you when you're winning and have no use for you when you're not. Most of their on-air "personalities" are semi-literate and the rest of them are, for the most part, dullards. I agree with you....Most of these athletes are way over-praised for rather mundane abilities.

Either you can't read or they edited....

Castro, 21, was an All-Star in 2011 and became the youngest Cubs player in 70 years to reach 300 career hits. He batted .307 with 10 homers and 66 RBI this past season.

The word I see is YOUNGEST, nor "first."
