Mitt Romney is so out of touch that he does not even understand how much harm he has inflicted upon his own candidacy by alienating Latinos and other immigrants. He will get the Cuban vote, but to other Latinos his scorched earth policy on immigration has made him persona non grata and he will be defeated by Obama.

Mitt will do well in the Cuban community. It is the "Latino community" that will reject him overwhelmingly.

Is he kidding me or what? Didn't this guy insult Latinos a couple of debates ago?

Romney insulted Latinos on CNN a week ago:

"And if they want a president who is going to talk to them about a handout or more benefits for free, they got that guy [Obama]. "

(Interview with Soledad O'Brian.)

Obama should run that in a loop on Univision and Telemundo in the fall.

your attempt at writing a few words in spanish show that are you not a native spanish speaker. are you trying to pass as a latino?
02:15 PM on 01/11/2012
So Rommey is pandering the latino vote by trying to convey in spanish, how original and coming from a xenophobic that thrashes the latino community with hateful words? obviously the cuban repugblican politicos like the Diaz Ballart brothers and Iliana Ros-Lhetinen are endorsing this guy. At least I can say this congress persons do not speak for the rest of us latinos.

What will the conservative talking head will say if African American President releases a political ad in Swahili?

They would laugh and ask why?

Those who have that as a native tongue are very aggressive in learning English when they get here.

Sorry to interject facts here, but one of us had to.

Yes he is talking jobs, what about his immigration plan. That should be more of what Miami wants to hear. Then they are interested in Medical.

Cuban immigrants and their descendants are their own category; they tend to buck the trend regarding "typical" immigrant concerns.

Of course, we're now seeing second and third-generation americans from them, and they don't really share their parents/grandparents biases, so it's going from a very homogenous political landscape to more of a mixed bag.
