From 1992 to 2000, America prospered, and Clinton left office with a surplus, not a deficit, like Bush 43. During 8 years of conservative rule, Bush 43 approved every Republican spending bill sent to his desk, including 2 trillion in tax cuts for the wealthy and the infamous $900 billion Prescription Drug Bill, the largest unfunded give-away in history. Under Bush 43, Republicans increased the Debt Ceiling  Read More...

HUMANS - How many are enough?

Rick..Rick..Ricky..Tricky Ricky...Tricky Dick Santorum. He knows he's finished for 2012. He's campaigning for 2016. By that time his prediction for an apocolapse may have become fact. Notice how his speach writer cleverly substituted "doomsday" for "apocolapse"? That's the problem with all these bible thumping evangelists. They all can't wait for "revelations" to happen in their lifetime. Can't be a resurrection until there is an apocolapse. Right?
I've often wondered if civilization were actually perched upon the brink of doom, WHO , the righteous or the doubter would stand together to save civilization?

Ohh Tricky Dick, you certainly do make me laugh. Sorry , but the title GOP clown of this year will be claimed by another. Good Luck in 2016 though , unless we're all clamoring at the pearly gates.

Another Pants On Fire speech. Sounds like Mr. S has had some sterilization on his mind. He has mistaken the end of his campaign with the end of the world for everyone. We will still be around when he gets back to lobbying in Washington.

Ricky, here's an idea how to perk up your campaign and get people excited about it again. I suggest a match...WWF presents - Rick (the sky is falling) Santorum vs. Newt (the mouth bombastic) Gingrich: in the first Moon Colony Smack-down on pay for view.

I like it. I might even pay to watch two right-wing loudmouths face off in the ring.

The surest way to hasten America's demise is to vote for Santorum.

Profound sense of deja vu here.

In the final days of Santorums desperate and pathetic Senate re-election campaign in PA back in 2006, he used precisely the same tactic.

Televisions throughout the state carried pictures of his mushroom cloud TV ads.

He then went on to suffer one of the worst defeats of a sitting Senator in some 75 years.

Santorum and his ridiculous message about nuclear war is absolutely baseless. A country attains nuclear weapons because it wants the ultimate deterrent. WHY would Iran, if they get nuclear weapons, want to lob one at the US? So they can get retaliated by 2,000 of ours and get turned into a glassed over parking lot? Countries and their governments have one goal in mind and that is to survive. Iran is not going to attack the US because that is committing suicide on their part. Also, they will most certainly NOT sell their weapons to terrorists cells because if they did use them and the US tracked them back to Iran, the retaliation would be swift and disastrous for the country and those in charge. Mr. Santorum, kindly take you warmongering lies and go someplace else.

I dont think anyone who follows foreign policy thinks that Iran will toss a nuke at the US. As you said the retaliation would be swift and deadly. The concern is that Iran would toss one at Tel Aviv and set off a major war in that region of the world which the US would find very difficult to avoid any involement in.

I agree with you for the most part. There is always, however, the possibility that the personal "insanity" of a specific ruler (or group) could override common sense. So far, nuclear weapons have only been used twice in history. Iran could break that barrier and use one against Israel, but it does seem unlikely since they would suffer mightily if they made that choice. It's complicated.

Why are there STILL news stories about this guy? He has about as much chance as winning the White House as Pat Robertson!

Too easy, Ricky-boy. But Republicans always like black-and-white answers (even more than most folks) - the subtle reality is hard to understand and even harder to do much about.

The real threat is not the enemy elsewhere - it is the ebbing of the drive to excel and the willingness to take risks that will see America reduce as a power in the world. "Too safe" is a seductive and inviting direction to head in - and dead wrong.

I'd like to know how he justifies being a free-loader on his government paid for health care, while he wants to take away health care from other innocent women and children. Give up your FREE health care and live like those who don't have good health care. Stop living off of the government paid system while you take from others! You nothing but a selfish phony too.

Come on, Sensible.

You know that the politicians on BOTH sides and of BOTH houses want to cut OTHER peoples salaries/benefits while simultaneously INCREASING their own.

Whoever thought giving the House and Senate the ability to VOTE on their OWN pay raises should be shot, tarred and feathered.
