May 2010

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) predicted Sunday that Democrats will retain their majority in the fall, in no small part because the party is already bracing itself for what it knows will be a difficult election. "We are ready," Pelosi told CNN's Candy Crowley. "And in the past when there [have] been these swings, it's been when people had not been ready." Pelosi also touted her party's record in special election, noting that Rep. Bill Owens' (D) win in New York's 23rd was the first time since the Civil War era that Democrats had controlled the district.

Predict? You cannot call it a prediction when it is unfolding in front of your face everyday.

The post government celebration continues. A few decades ago the UK created the Raving Loonies party. Now parties are doing species changes on themselves. No rules, plenty of fools. What could possibly go... oh, nevermind.

The GOPers in Congress have been headed for that train wreck since Day 1.......

They are committing very, very slow suicided......and they are almost all dead now. The Baggers have been dining on the corpse and the feast is unending.

Furthermore.

Who cares. They are worthless...the worst in our history...the most unAmerican and unpatriotic to ever hold a chair in that place where once John Adams and Benjamin Franklin sat.

They are a shame to our country, their party and our government.

Careful with the characterization "GOP train wreck"... there are so many, all over the country, that it's getting confusing.

Maybe, a huge fleet of traffic choppers reporting in every half-hour or so...

There are currently 69,000 bridges in America that have been tagged as deficient....The Republicans in the House of Representatives voted to exclude bridge work in the current Transportation Bill......It's pretty easy to connect the dots from there....

In Teapublican nirvana The Department of Transportion will be abolished and all roads will be privatized. This will create a building boom in toll booths at every third mile marker and a hiring boom in toll booth attendants.Think of the increase in off road vehicles this will produce. It's a win win for all.

"WASHINGTON -- Congressional Democrats predict Republicans are headed for another train wreck in the House over the stalled transportation bill."

Is this like when Pelosi predicted the Dems would pick up seats in 2010 or is this a real prediction by them?

One senior Republican aide called the Democrats' remarks "silly," and said that the transportation bill would move in the Senate as soon as both sides agree on amendments.

The creation and maintenance of infrastructure is one of the most important roles a government plays. When transportation facilities are poor, the economy suffers due to the lack of employment effective construction and maintenance provide plus the added transportation costs in getting goods to market.

Good roads are a non-political benefit to all. Those who would hold the transportation bill hostage for political advantage may pay a price in November... if my efforts have an effect.
