It is difficult to have only one in our lives. So far I have one husband for almost 22 years. I am very glad that I got married over 30's.

Not that I am an avid fan of the show, I think many people have been cruel and insensitive with their remarks. But that's just me. I've been through a divorce and trust me, it's no horse and buggy ride in the park. I don't think Chris is such a "has been" either. And who knows, they may work things out down the road, but no one should be so judgmental and downright cruel, unless they are so miserable they find the need to be. That's really sad.

My ex divorced me and took me to the cleaners financially. My second wife was a gift from God. We have been married 37 years and it's been pure joy. (nothing I did, it is all to her credit)

Money aside, what do either one of them bring to the "single" table. Neither one of them is attractive. Oh well, the lawyers make money on it.

You are very rude. Anonymity brings that out in so many people.

My wife forces me to watch that trainwreck of a show... he genuinely seems like a nice guy (vs. the King of Tools, Ryan Seacrest). Sad news for anyone...

Probably because he's exposed to all that good looking leg.

And looking at her picture I can understand why.

He's no prize either, his hair looks like it's thinning and he looks older than 40.

Men usually have a midlife crisis at the age of 40: Chris is 40.

I was too busy working and forgot to have my midlife crisis.

i've always thought that its such an obvious romantic comedy plot - the host of a bachelorette show falls in love with one of the contestants...so now maybe that will happen!

Or it already did and that is why the split!

I've been married for thirty years...it's not easy; it's hard work. commitment is what it takes.

I was married the FIRST time for 10 years... should've been 5. Currently I'm into my 7th year on #2... by the skin of my/our teeth. It's a TON of work. ALL. THE. TIME. But I'm 100% committed to making it work... but at the same time, if neither of you is "happy?" As far as I know, you get one go-round in life... why be miserable? If you've tried everything... actual real communication, counseling etc? And STILL nothing's working? Time to move on... no martyrdom sentences for me.

I find nothing in your post that I disagree with

Nothing lasts forever, "love fades" and men think about their mortality a lot more than women do which may lead them into "new lives".

Love fades only if you let it. It's like any living thing, it needs nurturing.

just terrible for the kids. They need counseling to just stay together till the youngest is 18.

Couples who aren't celebrities get divorced all the time, too. 19 years was a good run. Doesn't sounds like a "Hollywood curse". And even if it was... Sometimes things just don't work out.

Who is he? Who cares?

I've watched the show a few times. If you're a hormone-raging teenager it's probably OK. If you're seriously over 25 it is more like the slave markets of the Old South and the girls & guys are like a piece of meat. Yuck.....

Can you imagine all of the desperate bachelorettes going after him during the show... I can't see him being the "next bachelor". I think he has too much common sense to put himself out there like that.
