I'm sorry but having done it myself, I seriously doubt if that "bloated" 157# could participate in a REAL triathalon that incluses guys. Maybe she did a HUFFPOST triathalon-LOL

Truly wonderful and inspirational. I don't think most people know how hard it is to start exercising when you are morbidly obese.

Don't need to be morbidly obese to the understand the challenge , you could be a twig and have major difficulties . The point im getting at is that physical challenges can only hinder you so much it's the gettin use to a new routine and learning how to be discliplines that gets people. If you truly want something you'll do it. It's not your fault if you get knocked down, but it is if you don't get back up

Congratulations Heather! that's amazing. I went on my weight loss journey and I for one can say that in training for my first triathlon - it helped me lose some of the 40 lbs that I needed to get off of my body. Triathlons are addictive. Your determination is a great example of what you can accomplish when you set yourself some great goals to achieve! Good luck in getting to your Iron Man.

Heather, your story is so inspiring and I hope you get a chance to compete at Kona! You look absolutely glowing in your triathlon "after" pic :)

Here is an Idea instead of posting your Fat sobe story to get to Kona, Try Training your FA there like I have been.

I plan on Earning my way there instead of taking Charity to get in. My goal is to do them All if i dont make Kona thats because I am not the best of the best.

Doesn't sound like a "sob [sobe??] story" to me; it sounds like someone has worked their butt off and is taking advantage of an opportunity. Not sure why anyone else would have a problem with that.

It's not a sob story. She's been training - why rain on her parade? Bad attitude of you - all the way around.

...also no muscular people.

I don't think the goal is to look like a skinny-fat subsistence farmer.

Wow, and here I moan and complain about the "same ten pounds."
She's awesome -- good for her and best of luck to her in Kona!
