These bastards. This is why I am infuriated that these molesters would have the audacity to focus their ire on the Obama administration's attempt to provide free contraception to all employed women, including those working at Catholic or other religious entities, when they need to be CLEANING THEIR HOUSES of these molesters! Stop hiding and obfuscating the truth behind this horrific nightmare you have allowed to take place! It makes me sick to my stomach!

It's NOT free. The cost is covered by the premiums of all. It is a basic medical necessity and SHOULD be part of any health care program. The only change is that no co-pay is required.

...just a clarification. I agree with your sentiment. BTW, they can stop demonizing the LGBTQ communities too.

The problem with priests is that they are on a welfare system. They capitalize on the people's guilt while they live like princes and rule like dictators, all in the name of God. This is nothing new to the church.

Wow! And these are the MEN who want to tell women they can't use birth control, and control women's reproductive rights and decisions...SMH!!!
07:22 PM on 05/23/2012
It is astounding, they are suing Obama's health care over this, it goes against their religious beliefs. How utterly phony can you be in the name of God? I would be terrified that this God they talk about would smite me and my church down.

The only thing I find objectionable w/t article is the use of the past tense.
The "church" is still exploiting their flock of sheep.

The church rapes children on a global scale while they sue about birth control. Religion poisons everything.

This article succinctly points out how the Catholic Church perverts regenerated themselves; and you can be sure it was not limited to this one order of priests but, in all probability, was a widely understood technique to replenish the supply of priests who would be open to continuing the systemic molestation of young boys. How many young boys have been "mentored" by priests and then gone on to become priests themselves. When I was a young man, our school chaplain had favorite students who you would see riding around in his car with him, etc. I know of at least one of them who subsequently entered the seminary but left and lived his life as an openly gay man. The sex abuse scandal in the Catholic Church is far from over and, as I have said many times, is not a series of isolated events but, instead, is a systemic, secret and insidious aspect of Church culture.

For the most part I agree with your comment. Where I am not 100% in agreement is your comment about the "Church culture". It is true for the Catholic Church culture but not true for ALL Church cultures.

Do we really want this sort of religious freedom approved by the Supreme Court.

If the Bishop's would put half their effort into stopping this and bringing those involved to justice, that they did to contraception some progress might be made. Priorities.

they don't care about that, just like they did'nt care when luther nailed many of their wicked doings on the door of their church. they would kill you first rather than change their evil ways.

What these men did to these boys was sick and depraved. These victims need to know they had no responsibility in these crimes. These priests should be in a coffin, not walking the streets free. Anyone who knew of the abuse and didn't stop it should be in jail as well. If I were one of their molestation victims they wouldn't be above ground.
That being said, one of my children attends a Catholic School and they are turning out to be a better citizen than your average public school kid. We have 20 hours minimum community service work, we have an honor code they must abide by, or else they don't stay there. I do believe a faith in God, the thought that there is something else greater than yourself is good to have a belief in. There is too much selfishness and self-centeredness in the world today. By the way, my kid doesn't board there and I would never leave them at a boarding school or alone with a priest, or any male that we don't know well. That includes coaches, I sat at every coaching, sporting practice, etc.for years.

Are you also sitting in math class and English and reading etc? It's happened before and it will happen again. You are paying tuition that is allowing this to happen. There are plenty of schools where you child could flourish that wouldn't be putting money back into the church. They are hypocrites, pedophiles, homophobes, liars and cheats. If you don't mind subsidizing that behavior, so be it.

Best estimates are that 3% of men are pedophilic (or more), true in all walks.....how many executions are you willing to see?
I find a belief in something is not a good thing, and that to have one IS VERY self centered- as if, if there was a gods, that she'd give a damn about humans...
