This persecution was politically motivated from the onset: The thug who one his GOP Primary go his Prize. Why the Justice Department in an Obama Administration chose to execute this persecution is a mystery to me: As one poster has already remarked WE would have been better served had this energy been directed to the Banksters, who collapsed the economy with their fraud. Here's the problem as I see it:

The monied Corporate Aristocracy have their minions, their stewards in place: Romney or Obama makes little difference to them: To the people there "appears" an ideological divide. But in the Real world both men ascribe to the same principle of power based with the few.

Little discussed is the Stranglehold HMO's have on this economy: With their ever escalating profits, and of course our ever escalating premiums. It is stated, the primary reason for Corporates, who are sitting on Trillions in profits have not created jobs here, is the question of providing Health Care to employees. As this "cost" makes hiring too expensive.

With Health Care little more than another Giant, Monopolistic, non competitive provider of an Essential Service: It is time to CAP their profits. Stabilizing this "non competitive pseudo market" would go a long way in allaying the purported fears "job creators" are expressing.

Pravda is very much IN business: It is in the hands of the five corporations that control every aspect of American Media. That you don't see it is an affliction present in many: Always, yes, always avoid humans with small pets as Avatars.
for their cute little pets is the false foot that they move on: Wolves in sheeps clothing

Yes, they spoke out and their body language and vacuous speeches were deciphered as "HE IS A DEMOCRAT LIKE US, HE LOVES POOR PEOPLE, HE IS SOUTHERNER LIKE US, NOT GUILTY....OH THE OTHER FACTS OF CASE, SORRY, JUST DIDN'T HEAR THE STUFF PROSECUTORS WERE TALKING ABOUT."

I don't know the makeup of the jury but if they themselves were not financially savvy it's highly probable they could not put two and two together.
03:11 PM on 06/01/2012
It was a jury of his peers and was not convicted, No where does it say the jury has to be educated, financially savvy, intelligent or anything else. So you got to learn to deal with it.

I am sure it is debatable if they were a jury of his peers.

We all should be proud of these jurors who performed their duty. Too often juries decide cases on what they "just know" rather than the evidence. FPAESQ

Please do not throw out the WIFE card....I have great and complete sympathy for what she went through physically/medically and emotionally with even deeper feelings for her children in the loss of their mother........Let us not forget this was a Politically Driven Women.....when Edwards campaign unraveled for sins of the flesh she was savvy enough to play her cards!,,,,,,and JUMP THE WHITE HOUSE BOUND SHIP!.............HELL HATH NO FURY blah blah blah....she was keenly aware and manipulated the situation when it was apparent her POLITCAL AGENDA/ASPIRATIONS were going down!...Talk about a LEGACY!

He was found not guilty because he's a "pretty boy". He flirted with a juror and she should have been thrown off the jury. I hope the gov't goes forward on the counts that were a mistrial. A true misjustice.

Since when is a smile a flirt? If that is the we'd all have to walk around stone faced like you and walk like we had a stick up our butt.

This makes me sick! The article said in his defense, there was a question whether or not he fully understood what he was doing.. If he was that ignorant that he didn't understand, then why was he running for president? He knew exactly what he was doing. Andrew Young, the star witness that testified against him knew all the sordid details from when Edwards asked Young to pretend he was the father of his illegitimate child with Hunter right down to monies spent to fly Hunter around in private jets and live in penthouses. The system flatly refused to believe Young's testimony against him. Unbelievable! Another Democrat that lies, engages in adultery and misuses campaign monies and is never prosecuted. I guarantee you, this slime ball will run for president again in the not too far off future and all will be forgotten and the liberals will rally around him like he's a saint. (just like they did Clinton) forgetting "Clinton's Body Count" and lying, adulterous ways.

I've read quite a lot on this, and there were any number of attorneys who said that they "think" he broke the law, or they "think," that he didn't. Apparently, our campaign finance laws are written way too ambiguously. That cannot be accidental, in that the same people who write the laws are the ones who exploit that ambiguity. Edwards is scum, no question, but speaking for myself, I believe that our anger should be directed at those who write and implement the campaign finance laws, so that his actions weren't illegal.

SO WHAT HE IS A MAN........I LIKE HIM AND ONCE AGAIN THE AMERICAN PEOPLE HAVE LOST!
02:23 PM on 06/01/2012
The jurors said they did not have enough evidence to convict. What more evidence did they need? I am curious. This is like not convicting a murderer because you did not witness the murder! Get wise people.
03:19 PM on 06/01/2012
Wree you at the trial everyday or even one day? If not you have no idea what was presented to them. All you know is what was reported in the media and that is the exact reason people get trials, because of armchair quarterbacks like you that make up their minds with limited evidence presented by the media.
09:40 PM on 06/01/2012
I'm sorry you missed my point. Obtaining huge amounts of money and funneling them through your campaign finance people is way enough for me to convict. He got funds to help him look good as a Presidential candidate. The funds went to hide his affair and his tacky mistress. Plain as day for me. You might want to put your comments in a more respectful manner.

Why doesn't Eric Holder go after criminals on wall street and the big banks. How about Bush and his crew. There are plenty of sharks and he goes after a minnow. Then they blow it and can't even convict. He needs to go. When Obama wins re-election he has to name a real prosecutor.
