If what you say is all true, than why do we even need to pass a comrehensive overhaul of our immigration system?

You asked, here's the answer: Reforming the law is necessary due to the years of mishandling the current one for private interest of many industries which equal to millions of USA citizens acting on the "don't ask don't tell" quo for many many years, we are just to have our gardens maintenance for the lowest price (please stay away from "well I never did that"), in general across country it is a common practice and it is a common scenario, and by accepting such a act we are as guilty as them, it is a matter of National Security, what other better way who's hiding, what fastest and secure to ID every person, what practical, what's more humane, we allowed this awful scenario to hit us hard, we are not dealing with trash, is people the one we are talking about, families, Man up and face the music, we need to compromise solving the issue now, and move on on bringing unity back, we have to know who our neighbor is though, who's with Us or against Us,

I have a difficult time seeing how legalizing the illegals will secure the border, or what problem it will solve. It won't stop terrorist, they'll stay in the shadows voluntarily. It certainly won't reduce future illegal immigration, the 1986 amnesty for the 3 million illegals proves that (now 11 million, how many on the next amnesty? 20-30 million?). Or are you suggesting we make all immigration legal? That's not most people's idea of solving the problem.

WE don't we need only ENFORCE THE LAWS WE HAVE NOW. REFORM IS JUST ANOTHER WORD FOR GIVING IN TO THE ILLEGALS AND THE AMERICAN CITIZENS AND TAXPAYERS LOSE.

I disagree-the legal system is antiquated at best and needs to be modernized.

Immigration, Immigration, Border Security, and more Immigration. That's all the Latino bloggers and activists ever talk about. Where did they get the idea that this is the one defining issue for all Latinos? It's not. The only people that care about it are the illegal immigrants from Mexico and their bizarre supporters. I couldn't care less about it. Believe it or not, most of us think about other issues. Jobs, money, food, health care, crime, education, etc. Immigration is somewhere way down on the list.

Because, for some reason, it needs to be.

I am not Latino, but from my observations, it seems that if you as a Latino are not about immigration, then you are a sellout. Pretty sad that you are expected to think this way.

I think Democrat politicians (not rank and file like me) really just want to push a pathway to citizenship because they believe 11 million newly legalized Hispanic voters is a favorable demographic. Their media cronies constantly push the narrative that Republicans need to get on board with comprehensive immigration reform. But the fact is Hispanics primarily vote on the same concerns as everyone else (jobs, education, etc).
