He's the worst of them all, an ex-Fed who made himself a cushy spot in Arizona by selling scare tactics to the elderly voters. Most of his supporters honestly believe he is the only thing standing between them and violence in their own bedrooms in the middle of the night. Mostly he just knows how to work the media. Most real Cops have little respect for him.

Where do you intellectually challenged people come from? Do you go to private christian brainwashing schools or are you home schooled by Rush Limbaugh. Someone tells you what is written in the Constitution and your mind leaps endless chasms to come up with the notion that illegal should over throw the government. In case you are too dense to understand the point was that the Constitution guarantees human rights to all humans, not just Amerikans! Go to the library and check out a copy and study it. When they eventually come for you you will know what to say.

Is there not a law about hiring undocumented workers where is the crack down on these people
we don't have an illegal immigration problem. We have illegal hiring that drives this train. One would reason that being a gateway state Arizona would do all it needed to uphold the law. I ask would drying up these hiring practices and arresting the business owners do more to deter illegal immigration at a cheaper price

No, the outrage is that he breaks more important laws to uphold unimportant ones and ridicules and humiliates while doing it. Would really like to see it happen to you to see how you like it!

Do tell... which law do you find "unimportant"?? and because you find the law "unimportant" does it mean you are allowed not to obey said law? There are tons of laws I find "unimportant" but I must obey them. These are but the simple rules of a civilized society.

Wow, I was shocked to see white supremacists are reading The Huffington Post, but obviously they are since they're making comments here. Have to love the whole Arpaio isn't a barbaric racist, he's just enforcing the law angle. Same arguments we heard about Jim Crow, Fugitive Slave Act, women not being able to vote, etc. Don't worry, we see right through your "I'm not a Klansman, I just stand for law and order" act!

Much respect to you, at least you give me hope that there are still many Humans in the USA.
Immigration injustie is the biggest injustice of our time.
Many think that they can justify mistreating others just because they have the word "illegal" in their description. You can call people "illegals" all you want but that doesn't make it a crime to want to seek a better living conditions where the opportunities are.

Tell that to my co-worker whose ss# was stolen by an illegal alien. His credit is now ruined because that same social security # was passed around to that guys friends and family. Many of them defaulted on car loans and had homes foreclosed upon, leaving his credit worthless. My co-worker has fought with the credit agencies and the creditors to little avail. Multiply this by hundreds of thousands of victims and you will see a difference side to your argument. BTW, I am an Indian-American that became a legal U.S. citizen a few years ago. And if you think illegals are being mistreated in the U.S., try being a Central American immigrant passing through Mexico en route to the United States. Many of those immigrants from Central America have been beaten, raped, held in concentration camps, and those are the lucky ones. Many of you young white Americans have not traveled beyond America's borders. If you think America is bad, you haven't lived a full life. That is why I chose to move to America. India is a horrible place to raise a child and Europe is bogged down in their own race wars, separating Muslims and people of color in their own sections of the city. Things are a lot better in America. Not perfect, but not nearly as apocalyptic as you portray.

Since when has it become ok to treat humans like animals because they crossed the border illegally for a better future? Heard that even citizens of Mexican descent and legal immigrants are being rounded up by this nut cop for no reason. If it is not racial profiling, then what is it? Catching illegals in a proper manner, try them in courts and deporting them should be done constitutionally, that too by federal officers. Just one cop taking upon himself to treat humans the way he wants and people supporting him only shows how low our society has gone.

Sheriff Joe is a fascist who is making the local lawyers rich because of all the civil actions awarded against him. People who failed to pay parking tickets are being beaten and choked to death, women are miscarrying their babies and diseases is rampant in the prison system.

Is this a system to be proud of. Also, while Arpaio is out harassing brown people, the serious crime rate is going up.

I am a flaming liberal, but I like the way Arpaio does prison. Prison is supposed to be an absolutely awful place that you don't want to go back to. I live in California, and our prison population is extensive, to the point where it is breaking the state budget. Maybe if we adopted the Arpaio tactics here, we would have far less repeat offenders.

As for targeting illegals, given the tremendous increase in violence from the Mexican drug cartels, and the fact that Arpaio's state is one of the gateway states, I can't blame him for taking a bit of a heavy hand.

Legalize marijuana and get rid of the drug wars, and it would take a load off the prisons. Hispanics were in Phoenix way before the rest of us, It is not them against us, they are us..and Arpaio is targeting them through profiling. That is wrong. And please, regressing to a more medieval prison system and acting brutish is not our way. Neither was Guantanamo.
