It is a badly made attack-ad. It is so insulting to the voters, because whomever made it/approved it thinks we've got the intelligence of a house-fly.

Joe want to be outraged? The simple fact Romney has Iranian oil investments and his Cayman island and Swiss bank accounts should warrant outrage. Instead he feigns outrage over an ad? Cut me a break.
06:39 PM on 08/09/2012
Can you please provide a link from a respectable news outlet showing that Mitt Romney personally did business with the Iranians. You are aware that DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz who was very outspoken about Rowney's so called offshore bank accounts also had money in offshore bank accounts. Isn't it interesting since the story broke about Wasserman and a few other Obama administration officials having money on those same offshore banks that the attacks stop..

You are aware that President Clinton pardoned Marc Rich in his last hour in the White House. Marc Rich was a fugitive business man that fled the US after being convicted of selling oil for money with the Iranians. His Wife was a major Clinton Donor that practically paid for the Clinton library. And now has since renounced her US passport to avoid paying $10 million in tax's. This was all reported on MSNBC, CNN and is readily available to the public for reading. However, I have yet to see a respectable news outlet report on your fact less claims..

@LV711..why be outraged the fact that Romney had Iranian oil investments and a Cayman Island and Swiss bank accounts. The tax laws in the USA allow for it. What do you think Obama does with his book writing wealth?

Whenever I think of Joe Scarborough, I think of the spanking Mika's father, Zbigniew gave to him on issues of foreign policy, and in particular the middle east.

It was delicious.

Yes, it was. Without raising his voice, Mika's dad delivered a withering rebuke. Joe should learn not to come unarmed into a battle of wits and words.

You won't get a liberal like Gibbs to denounce this untrue ad. He checked his ethics and morals at the door when he got into bed with Obama and his inept administration.

What is so shameful is that Michael Steele, Condoleeza Rice and so many other influential Black Republicans are not saying anything about how Blacks and other minorities are being put in a position to, maybe, not be able to vote in certain states. Where are their voices? How can they just sit and act as though that terrible thing is not happening? It's shameful that the Republican Party disrespected and still disrespect Michael Steele, so much, and he still tries to get on television and downgrade President Obama. How do these Black people in high stations feel when so many racial, insulting, things are being said about President Obama and their own race, in such an outright and blatant way. Do you think that they have forgotten that they are still Black and are burying their heads in the sand? It is so shameful that they are not speaking out on the voting issue in the different states. When will they start making their stand and realize that they will always be Black and that the same way so many Republicans and others feel about President Obama, they feel the same way about them, even though they are in the same political party?
06:25 PM on 08/09/2012
Why do you have so little faith in Black people that you think they are not able to get a photo ID. They are not children and do not need people like you to lead them by the hand. I think I would be furious if you said women were not smart enough to get a photo ID

Some counties in my state do not have a branch of the Department of Motor Vehicles, the principal source for our state-mandated photo ID's. Travel to another county is prohibitive -- in terms of time and money -- for many residents, regardless of race. The problem has little to do with intelligence and everything to do with access to public transportation and sufficient funds to pay for it. The poor, in general, and racial minorities, in particular, are those most likely to be negatively impacted by these new laws -- a fact of which our GOPer legislators are well aware.

You may want to research this problem, using sources that are not right-wing talk radio and Fox News [sic].
06:36 PM on 08/09/2012
For Republicans, it's always PARTY before PEOPLE. I don't know how many black Republicans there are, but they must all be on display and they all look ridiculous on FOXNEWS. They actually have to root for George Zimmerman. They have to invoke Sharpton and Jackson at every race-related issue. They have to denigrate the NAACP and associate food stamps and welfare with their race.

Eventually, Obama will be done. Either in 2013 or 2017, he will vacate the White House, There will be no shelter for these people at that time. I hope they are making friends while the GOP still has use for them.

They don't have to do anything. And they were never forced to support republican ideology. They CHOSE to do so. You choose to ignore that fact. It's just beyond the comprehension of some to believe that people actual can and do think for themselves and do NOT allow themselves to be intimidated into following the crowd. These are highly intelligent educated people but you need to make them appear st upid because you cannot understand how anyone could hold different views than you.

I love this. The kool-aid drinkers on this site , along with Gibbs, Reid, Cutter and Burton are destroying their own campaign. They can't even denounce this stupid, dishonest ad, because it would sterilize the money in this PAC. Why are they advancing such a counterproductive, virulently corrupt line of campaign? Either they simply think they can get away with it, or they are SCARED to death. Good Lord , they even have the mainstream media up in arms against such blatant delusion. EVERYBODY has said its a lie, and people on this site are defending it. Wake-up folks, your credibility is at stake.

Right! It's almost as if the ad suggested that there would death panels! Or that Romney wasn't born in the United States.
05:56 PM on 08/09/2012
Bad anology. There will be Death panels if Obamacare survives because every country in the world where socialized medicine exists rations care. Some die from rationing. When we get Obama's college papers we will find out just what kind of machinations it took for a nobody, with a penchent for weed and skipping classes, no money and bad grades to get into Harvard and Columbia.

Destroying the campaign? How?
Isn't this what the Republican party has done for the last 40 years? Has there ever been a campaign where the republican candidate hasn't attacked his opponent as an anti-american, communist, god-hating, baby-eating, mass murderer in disguise?
07:06 PM on 08/09/2012
The first 3 I agree. But these are subjective , musings which sometimes are more true than not. This ad is a lie from start to finish and is EASILY refuted with a time line, and documentation disproving the entire thesis. I know you are a committed progressive, but TRY to pretend you were an independant voter or someone objective. Would you buy this crap?

And for the last two days the Morning Joe crew has gone after this ad and and pretty much squashed any real discussion of the lying welfare ad put out by the Romney campaign. If not for John Heileman (sp?) Gingrich would have got off completely on the topic of the welfare this morning. Scarborough on more than one occasion directed the conversation away from the Romney ad to dive into the Priorities ad with almost everyone chiming in on what a "great guy" Romney is. Fact is folks like those at Bain do not actually care about the damage done to laid off workers in their quest for profit. And those folks have real faces and stories to tell.

They all seem very uncomfortable with raising that as an issue.

Peace/Salaams/shalom.....
05:14 PM on 08/09/2012
Yes, Joe Scarborough is very good for trying to put his thoughts and words into the minds and words of guests on that show. Even, sneakingly, tries to gently guide them into saying what he wants them to say. That is so dirty and disrespectful. Morning Joe should be on Fox News channel. I am embarassed of Mika lately. I thought so much of her and had the deepest respect for her. Not any more. Maybe this is the real her. She was trying to convince America this morning that Ann Romney is so wonderful and such an angel. Was Mika trying to say that she does not want to see The Obama Family in the Whitehouse another term? Or is she angry that, maybe, the Whitehouse slighted her in some little or big way lately, that we don't know about?
05:56 PM on 08/09/2012
Thank you . I was moving around I thought that I had missed the discussion on the lying welfare ad. He has hammer the super PAC Priorities for two days. It is like he has put it on a cycle. He went off on the Stephanie Cutter interview, but David Shuster on Current Event praised the interview.Cutter took the bold step of not running away from the facts in the ad

I saw that show. They were all disgustingly browbeating Gibbs when he did`nt have anything to do with the ad. It was done by an independent super pac. They sure don`t go after any Romney outright lies. I was totally ashamed of Sam Stein, bad things from Mornin Joe are rubbing off onto him. Mika is not a good counter for Joe.They are practically coronating Romney.

Mika is a talking chimp on that show. She stares adoringly at Scarborough and her only contribution is to announce station breaks.

Good for Robert Gibb!! Joe Scarborough and all the other talking heads should get out of the business of pushing personal opinions and stick to just the news please!!
04:33 PM on 08/09/2012
The fact remains that Romney's business, over the past number of years, was to buy companies, allow them to go under, make millions, not help the people that lost their jobs at those companies, hide that money all over the world and eventually try to become president, so that he can feel that he is the most powerful man in the world. If he gets elected, after a short period of time, there would not be any need for those who vote him in to cry over spilled milk, when they see how he will think only of himself, cater only to the rich, band with the Republicans in Washington and allow the middle class and poor to go through very rough times. There will not be any recall opportunity and America will be stuck with a person that will not think for himself and will always do what he is advised to do by groups with their own personal interest, that will benefit them only. It will be too late then, but those voting him in will get what they deserve.
05:16 PM on 08/09/2012
The fact remains? Buy companies and allow them to go under? Are you nuts? The fact is 80% of Bain's investments are going concerns, currently doing business. Thousands of jobs.
Try and get the truth if you can recognize it when it hits you in the face.
