Interesting. My neighbor stopped going to Target earlier in the year because of their new carts designed for people with hands a big as Paul Bunyans.

They are also a trial Company. When a Company has a new product for the consumers, then most likely it is Walmart who will take the product. Then they tell the company what the price will be set as. ( remember cheap cheap ) Then the trials begin. If the product does not do well in the retail sector, then it's a no go just because Walmart told them so.

I'll say that Walmart is for me. I wouldn't want to do without it. I know people will reply How would you like it if you had to work there? I know a guy that works there, for in-house security, and loves it.

This Family owned super giant should be down sized. nothing but trouble, if you ask me. Everything from environmental to discrimination and monopolizing . See nothing but allot more trouble with this multi billion dollar company.

I would prefer to buy American made products for a few dollars more. 114 BILLION dollars and more then half of all Walmart employes are listed as PART time, NO 40 hour weeks, NO overtime, NO medical, and NO paid Vacation. WHY?? Because the Sorry SOB's in charge want to save money for their own deep pockets. Sam would be rolling over in his grave if he knew what a travesty his offspring have created.

Well Pee Wee, here is what you do. First rent an empty store of about 100,000 sq. feet. There are plenty of them all over the U.S. Then you stock it full with ONLY American made products from AMERICAN companies. Then hire a staff of about 225 people and pay them union scale, all at full time, all with free medical, dental, eyeglasses, and hearing aids. Start them with three weeks of paid vacations, 12 paid holidays a year, 12 paid sick days a year, 4 paid "mental health" days a year, and a pesnion that gurantees them at least 85% or their regular pay at retirement (30 years). Accept deliveries only from companies who hire teamster truckers. Then throw open your doors and expect to make millions eac yearh. All of these naysayers on this site will GLADLY pay more to shop at your store regarless of the prices. Good luck Pee Wee.

Just where do you think you'll find American Manufactured Products??? Anyway, most of your comment was a lie...Workers ARE PAID overtime, and Medical Coverage is available.....Walmart is NO LONGER PRIVATELY OWNED...IT's traded on the Stock Exchange.......
03:30 PM on 08/16/2012
really? they offer medical for part time workers (most of their staff)? and tell me do these workers make enough to actually buy it?

We should all shop at walmart. China is building a new super aircraft carrier, and needs our money.

If China wasn't raking in record amounts of USA cash then they couldn't afford the super aircraft carrier and we could use our taxes for doing some good in our country.

Bottom line, Walmart sucks.

They are building it with the interest they are earning from the US on the 1.5 trillion dollars they loaned us to pay for increased food stamps and Obamacare.

Go to the poor areas of your town and ask them what they want. Maybe they don't have as much money as you do.
02:00 PM on 08/16/2012
If Walmart is soooo terrible, then why is my local one always filled with shoppers????? I don't know who can afford to shop only at Giant Eagle, or Shop n Save for groceries!!! Their prices are always way more than Walmart. Walmart's prices have gone up, but on most things, they are still more inexpensive.

I have a friend that lives in a small town in South Dakota. I remember her being all excited that they were getting a Walmart. I didn't understand until I finally visited her home town. Walmart was the biggest store there. She had to drive more than 60 miles each way to shop in a mall. It helped give me a better perspective.

You can buy your Chinese products cheaper at Walmart, or go somewhere else and buy your Chinese products for more. Your choice, but you are probably going to get a Chinese product either way.
02:37 PM on 08/16/2012
this is exactly why I wasn't bothered that the Olympians didn't wear American made uniforms to the Olympics. Was the airplane that they flew over in totally produced and assembled in the US? With US made and assembled parts? With US gas/oil? We buy from China. they make things cheaper than we do.
03:33 PM on 08/16/2012
that wouldn't bother me so much --if China bought American once in a while

They have trade barriers that keep our products out or too expensive. We can't complain since we need them to keep buying our debt which will keep going up a trillion a year for the future as long as Democrats are in office.
