But the CHURCH is really just a Hollywood-style facade, for inside lies A MOSQUE! Yes, ladies and gentleman, that's the truth, according to the preacher AnnPam CoulGeller.
Be afraid, very afraid.

The church was probably closed to regular worship and attended by the Obama's and their entourage [Michelle's 26 maids, dog walkers and the assortment of white house personnel]
let's not forget the secret service. those boys need to confess their sins after what they did in Colombia. Just curious, how much did they leave on the collection plate.

I love all those shots of Mittless & family heading into the Tabernacle! The man does not even have the courage to be seen or speak of his Mormonism - it's always Politics and Money with Mitty!

How demeaning to the Church, let alone the Obama family. Such vitriol. How very sad to be you.

Why?

It's his business, not yours.

Do you want people telling you how often you should go to church? ludicrous

One's faith, of course, is NOT determined by how often one goes to church.

Going to church frequently is a good thing if you are a Christian. It shows that you are honoring the Sabbath and that you are serious about the commandments of God. He is a Christian right? He should be going to church every Sunday.

Kind of a reminder to me that Obama is actually the only Protestant Christian on either ticket. Makes me smile to see Christian conservatives stew in their hypocrisy.

A good decent, beautiful all American family attending church & all the closed, small minds who view this scene, through their venomous, cancerous hate is exactly the opposite! How sad, how very very sad! May they somehow see the light and have peace!

Bless you for being such a kind person. I can't reach your level of humanity, and hope the hate filled people who impact others have miserable lives. They deserve what they earned.

"The Rev. Michael Angell delivered a sermon from John 6 about the extended metaphor of eating Jesus' flesh".

Do the metaphorical flesh eaters metaphorically grill Jesus' flesh before they eat it. Does it taste better medium rare or well done?

Just metaphorically. But you can drink Jesus' blood at the blood bank. There are various options. I like the Pinot Noir flavored blood myself.

You must not be familiar with the metaphor. That can be remedied with basic information.

More troubling is the crassness from a grown @ssed person, who ought be aware of the major faux pas involved in mocking others faiths in this way in this place at this time.
02:14 PM on 08/22/2012
Why should I not mock other's faith when those others threaten me with their mythical eternal damnation. At least I only mock them. I don't threaten them.

I take communion every Wednesday. Spaghetti and meatballs in metaphorical honor of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Why do the faithful think that for some reason they are exempt from mocking for their logical follies?

"No, I will not. It is time for you to grow up".

It is time for you to grow up. You are like a 6 year old that believes in some father in the sky that will protect him and answer his prayers. GROW UP!!! There is no God.

Why would a devout Muslim attend a Christian church? One would surmise that in this election year its would be advantageous to appear to be somewhat Christian to the voters. Strange things are always happening in the arena of politics. I guess we just have to get used to it in these challenging times.

Why did the Obamas receive communion? They are not members of the Episcopal faith. What an insult to the members of the church and blasphemous act! They should be ashamed of presenting themselves. In public statements by the president, he certainly has no regard for their beliefs of the beliefs of most Christians.

I suspect the Obama's weren't the only non-Episcopalians to receive communion at that particular church and at Episcopal churches all over America. I have a large number of friends, formerly attending the Catholic Church, who take communion at the Episcopal Churches they now attend. The decision to take communion or not take communion is between the person, his conscience, and perhaps the officiating priest, and absolutely no one else, including any person who posts on this thread. Although we live in a time when fervently felt or feigned public displays of religion are ordinary, I suggest we leave the religious observances of everyone, including the president and his family, up to the individuals involved. That's how it used to be and it worked well.

Communion is communion for Christ sake. I don't see why you have to be of a particular religion to accept communion. Its not like at the last supper Jesus divided his disciples up as to who could take the bread and body. You people who are sooooo religious sicken me!

Many, many churches have open communion...which is the way it should be, communion is between the person and God. And as a Christian, I approve of most of his positions on religion, because, ulike some, I know government should have absolutely nothing to do with it. I also know that, when it comes to religious freedom, mine, yours, everyones comes to an abrupt halt as soon as it interferes with someone else's freedom/rights. If that's not clear, I'm sure there's an eigth grade civics class somewhere you can sit in on.
