Four years to calm the troubled waters caused by Bush and there is more unrest than before..I believe Obama tried to "be friends" honestly, but these warring nations are only impressed by strength and the ability to fight back. The scary thing is they know we can only fight so many wars and now what? we are at the brink financially and they all seem to know.

Get your head out of your rump. The Middle East has been "troubled waters" for decades (if not centuries). If you think BUSH caused the unrest in the Middle East, then you can't be more than 12 years old. You can't be "friends" with people who are not capable of being friendly. We aren't "at the brink financially" because of wars, my friend. We are "at the brink" because we spend to much on ENTITLEMENTS.

Do Not start by attacking me...have we learned Nothing today? the middle east have always been warring nations. And I don't think Jr caused that...I do think he had a six shooter mentality though, and I'm a conservative. But Obama on the other hand tried the world order type of friendship and that caused more trouble. My fear is no one has the answer after these last 4 years
11:38 AM on 09/12/2012
Amazing! Only had to view 11 comments before finding the first one to suggest that Bush was responsible for this outrage. Congrats! You represent your Bush Derangement Syndrome quite well.

actually that was a tongue in cheek about bush being blamed for everything, though I didn't vote for Jr and I did think he had a kind of six shooter attitude.... my point was it's been 4 years and it's time to take responsibility for those years....but you did the "insult someones intelligence when you disagree" quite well, I almost thought you were a lib for a minute

Why is everyone blaming Obama for this? The Danish cartoons came out while Bush was in office and there were protests and Americans / Muslims killed. Obama cannot control someone making an anti-Islam film anymore than he can control the sun rising and setting.

Put the blame where it belongs and honor the Americans serving overseas who gave their lives in the interests of freedom.

They must have seen a bigger one in Bush, considering they were far more vicious then.

Once again, the Arab world prove themselves to be nothing more than mindless animals. We need to just stand back and let them kill each other off. They will not change. Ever.

Why are we trying to help these people? American occupation of these wastelands is draining our wealth and resources and the people their hate us and tell us to leave. So like I said WHY are we in the middle east to begin with?

Our ME policy is nowhere to be found.
10:52 AM on 09/12/2012
Islamic immigrants have built a masque in our area to exercise their religious freedom. They went through all the necessary steps that our state and county governments require to build their place of worship. They pay their taxes, follow our laws, hire our contractors, and pay our state inspectors as required. However, the American residents from the area are outraged; some committing hate crimes against a peaceful group of people. Their story is on the news every day, the front page of the newspaper every morning. We have to audacity to be shocked when we see our own being persecuted in their country, while we are just as guilty when we look the other way at bomb threats being called in against legal citizens exercising the very religious freedoms that we claim to respect. We are a country of hypocrisy.

I invite you to read the book Letter to a Christian Nation by Sam Harris. Read it and you'll understand why sectarian adherence to religious dogma -- and any Religion itself for that matter -- is the gravest threat we face to the survival of global civilization. This is no exaggeration, no joke.
11:31 AM on 09/12/2012
I have no idea what the book says, but since I believe in God, I guess I'll have to skip it.

Would you REALLY equate that treatment to the treatment of women in Afghanastan right now. Do you really think women & girls raped in this country would be taken to a stadium to be stoned then murdered by Christian men. Do you think when young girls in Afghanastan, that are betrothed to a young man, brought into the family's house & basically enslaved, beaten, raped... is a common occurrence by Christian families around the world? What about acid throw in the faces of rape victims or the young betrothed, enslaved girls not subservient enough is common occurrence of Christian men?
What about Sharia law in Saudi Arabia, a man has the right to rape, beat or even kill his rebellious wife. Men have the right to marry & have sex with prepubescent girls.
Now, its true that many Muslim men would & do not do this, but the prevalence & acceptance is appalling. You know, there truly are some bad Christian, nonChristian or whatever men, however the aforementioined legal actions are extreme & horrific & inexplicable.

Evidently, the embassey terrorists get their masks from the same supplier as OWS--Guy Fox (V for Vendetta) masks on Muslims? Must have had a sale on them at the local Value Village in Egypt because there can't be a correlation between the two movements...Obama has now done the one thing historians assumed was impossible...he's made Jimmy Carter look like a tough, majestic president (that's near impossible). In a sign of support for Israel, he also opted to hang out with David Letterman instead of meeting with their PM when he is visiting the country for the UN Summit..I guess Barry's got time to have a beer with a cop and a university professor, hug a pizza restaurant owner and make microbrew, just doesn't have time (nor the respect) to meet with our biggest Middle Eastern ally...

Obama had the stones to launch an unauthorized attack within Pakistan and killed Bin Laden, and you call him weak? Him with his drone strikes and everything? At least Obama only hugs a pizza shop owner. Not 8 months ago, Republicans were trying to make a pizza shop owner the presidential nominee.
Not wanting to meet the leader of an "ally" who's blatantly responsible for mass genocide and ethnic cleansing, not to mention invasion and occupation of land they have no valid right to? An "ally" with dozens of undeclared nuclear weapons and constantly threatening to go to war with a bunch of already unstable nations in a terribly unstable area?

I think Obama might be the toughest president the US has had since Truman, the way his record currently looks.

Thanks for the laughs...that was some of the best satire (you were being satirical, correct?) I have read in awhile...'the toughest president since Truman..."he had to be told 3 times, according to Navy Seal sources and your own mainstream media like MSNBC and NBC that Osama was ready to take out...and the Seals, not barry the bong king, executed the mission...he was put into a position where he couldn't say no, too many insiders would know the story, and it helped his campaign rhetoric for lemmings like you. Yesterday's attacks are reminders of Carter's similar failures during the Iran crisis, when the mid east punk persians viewed the US as week due to his appeasement style leadership...if he was really tough and viewed as such by someone other than the left in this country, no one would have attacked the embassies and our representatives yesterday....I am sure they are quaking in their sandals awaiting those swift 'meetings to discuss our differences'--the terror it must bring to them...knowing they'll soon be in a room with Hillary ought to scare anyone.

I don't understand why a former governor like Romney needs to speak on this at all.
It's completely inappropriate for him to undermine the president's authority.
Of course, he should be receiving all the intelligence the president does, all the briefings, etc., but it's not appropriate for him to speak. Let the president do his job. If Romney is elected, then he can speak as our leader all he likes. But he's not our president right now. He should stay quiet.

Romney isn't the president. So what's your point? Obama has been hiding for four years.
11:53 AM on 09/12/2012
But Romney is trying to win votes for the Presidency, then let the voters see he has more spunk than the one we have now and the one we had last time. I'm sick of all these politicians. Why are you irritated with my post? Apparently you are for Romney and you conveniently overlook the statement that I would love to get rid of both of them.

Haven't the Democrats been telling us for four years how the world loves us now that Obama is President? No we should not believe our eyes. We should not believe what we hear on the news. No the world loves us, they just have a funny way of expressing that love.
