I think I would like a shot at procreating with her----that would really be a great payoff......

Getting lucky with her has a whole new meaning.

It happens a lot in the U.S. lottery too. One person will win huge lotteries multiple times in supposedly random number picks and game card purchases from different sources...reminds me of the lady at our church who won both the quilt and a car in the Fall festival prize drawings.

Random please, nothing is that much of a coincidence. Here's the connection...I would guess that since Hege Jeanette Oksnes is a petrol station attendant all the family winnings came from that station. Many people who play the lottery, especially those who machine select numbers rely on the station where they bought the ticket from to determine whether or not their tickets are winners. In other words they hand the tickets over to the attendant and ask them to check if any of their numbers came up as winners. They had an investigation on 60 mins. showing some attendants purposely deceiving ticket winning holders by telling them their tickets were not winners but they were indeed. I suspect this is what happened here! It's hard enough winning the lottery once let alone a family winning it 3 times...please, spare me! What's your thoughts?

People should check their own tickets and not be so naive to trust a stranger.

Yup. This has been a massive issue in Canada. End result? Tickets now come with a space at the bottom for signing. I sign on purchase, right there on the counter, before I leave the gas station.

Or it could be that we've heard this story before (especially those of us who are Canadian) and that we clicked the story wondering if we would find out whether someone involved might be a gas station attendant and, sure enough, there it was right up front in paragraph two.

I just have to ask if anyone else saw the 2 articles:
one was the boy with cancer who survived, won the lottery, and is giving some back to the cancer charities that helped him through, and two the guy who took his dog to the lake to soothe his arthritis because he couldn't afford treatments(and was photographed), who received thousand$ (and he lives on someone's farm, is broke, etc) who started a foundation for people too poor to get their pets care/spayed/neutered....This article made me think of them.

Random? Please.... Do some serious research on the lotto, how it all works, how many different branches are involved. And above all, do the math on the money intake versus the win ratio. The amount of money paid out does not even come close to what they take in, those involved in working for the lotteries actually make out better than most of the winners. And worst of all, most (not all) of the people that win are broke as quick as they come into it. And the taxes take more than half of the winnings normally, but someone who makes billions a year doesn't even come close to paying a quarter of their earnings to taxes. How is that fair? If Bill Gates gave away every penny he had one day, the next day he would still make enough money to be considered filthy rich.

1. The Looto was Created to Raise $ for funding Education, remember?
2. Instead of Raising Taxes in each state to do the same
3. But, like all Things that Create $ for Politicans and People that have Speical Interest, they justified using some of that Lotto $ for speical Interests, such as for Each States Medicade WelFare and Food Stamps..
4. People who invest into the Stock Market- Stocks , Take Major Risks, they LOST over the ave of 50% of their Investments/Savings after 2008..and it took the next 3 yrs to get Even..and thus why they only pay a 15% Cap Gains Tax and Not Ordinary Taxes..

R U invested into the Stock Market? And if not? Why not?
Do you Live on a Salary or A Commission Income?

Everyone ought to be paid both.. 50/50 and they would Work More and appreicate it more..

you know i dont gamble and if i did i would buy lotto tickets but it amazes me that every big winner is always up north towards the east...you think at least once someone could win it in the south. and if someone has and i stand corrected it just seems that way????????????

This is too strange. I guess if some families can be very unlucky than some can be lucky. But if I was the lottery officials I might make some changes.

I never win anything when I play the lotto. I wonder how much money they spent on the tickets to win their windfall? Congrats to the lucky family, and make sure you put a bunch of money aside for the education of your grandchildren. Enjoy your newly found riches!

I'm a passionate lottery player in California. It doesn't matter how much you spend over the course of time -- it's all a matter of timing and chance! You take a calculated risk that at the time you are purchasing the scratch off or lotto ticket that it's the one with the winning combos. I recall an incident at The Farmer's Market in LA where a couple who had never played the lotto before, much less bought a scratch off, spent 3 bucks in a machine and out came the winner: 750K scratch off ticket!!! They didn't know they'd won until the cashier told them! Chance=Timing=Gamble! Good Luck!

Actually You 1st take out as much $ it takes to Pay for your Living Expenses 1st, Invest it
into some Balanced Mutual Funds and only take out 3% yr from it..

If you need $50k yr? divide by 3% ? You need how much invested? = $1.7 Million

Then you can go spend the rest as you want..
