That's because OG still thinks they can solve their problems in the board room. The problem is the board room.

I've only been twice and thankfully the last time was seven years ago. A truly hideous experience.

Awesome. Now the've got new ads for their garbage. Yay! One of the worst chains out there, IMO.

I've been to very modest Greek diners that at the very least serve soups that were prepared on site. I don't mind mediocre food as long as someone has made an honest effort to do it themselves. If it's not great, I can at least hope that one day they'll get it right.

Olive Gardens are too big and their food is overpriced and poor quality. And not even Italian. Of course places like Chipotle are doing better, the food is delicious, reasonably priced, and not trying to be something it's not. The Italian we serve in America is no longer interesting... maybe they should try serving true Italian food.

They'd be better advised to start serving some decent food. The last time I was there, the minestrone came right out of a Progresso can.

The last time I ate at an OG was about ten years ago. We were told that the wait would be fifteen minutes and it turned out to be seventy-five. After being seated the server did not notice us for another ten minutes. When ordering I asked if I could have my pasta cooked al dente. The server replied that she did not speak Spanish. True story.

So they're ditching the classy old-world look in favor of the new dumbed-down glitzy. I don't think I'll be eating there!

every time i go to olive garden there are tons of people waiting there. they dont need to change anything, they already have more customers than they can accomodate

So basically, they're dumbing themselves down and becoming just another fast-food chain?

Could it be? Are people actually starting to realize that pasta costs much less than a dollar a serving at the grocery store? Nah, we're not smart enough for that... or are we? If you're gonna have a thousand calorie dinner, for Pete's sake: go to a local joint or cook it yourself.

People really should eat at home. It's so much cheaper and better for you!
06:28 AM on 10/08/2012
lol you are assuming that folks know how to cook, and if that cook healthy, and if that understand that you can allocate time to cooking/preparing food for the next week no the weekend so that you simply come home and heat it up or fully cook the meal.

You don't know how many times I'm at the grocery store and I see a family shopping with a cart fool of junk stuff, prepackaged meals, pizza, chip, tons of soda and not one fresh produce in the basket.

Olive Garden, how about working on not using so much salt that diners have salt poisoning after a meal? That, and the bleach-mop bucket smell that often pervades the place.

That's the problem, not that the idea of a "big, Italian family meal" is a turn off.

Why not support your neighborhood's entrepreneurs instead, by eating at locally-owned restaurants?
