No Need 2 Cry About It...

I hope the pending charges include charges for the mob that cheered this mess on.

After reading articles of this nature, I remain shell-shocked for days. This proves especially true, when young people are involved.

Granted, the adolescents and teens of today know much more about sexual activity, than those in the 1950s and prior. Why should they not? Immoral behavior is spoon-fed to them everywhere they look! The Internet, television, video games, movies and advertising are the primary culprits who target, what the media refers to as, the "youth market".

When objections from parents or religeous groups are voiced, six words, i.e., "supply and demand" and "change the channel" are the usual responses. Something mysteriously contained in those phrases, prompts objectors to back down. Commitment is difficult, while retreat is too easy.

A complete list of party-goers will never be compiled. Believing it will, is a delusion. The parents of the victim, will more than likely sue the owners of the home where the party was held. Those who supplied the liquor, will be prosecuted. And, on and on... The conceivable repercussions are endless.

Hopefully, the cell phone pictures and films taken that night, will not appear on You Tube or any similar Website. Such a transgression, could very well cause another Rutgers tragedy.

ALL who attended the party, are responsible for this betrayal of innocence. Regardless of whether this young man was inebriated or not, he did not deserve to be sexually exploited and violated!

What about charging the adults who held the party and allowed underage drinking. None they mentioned were old enough to buy the beer. Who is so sick as to stick around and capture it on video without calling the police.

It's all around us Dr. John.... Did you see the 68 year old guy who started biting the 28 year old on the subway? Dozens of people standing around watching, taking photos.... not ONE tried to come to the 28 year old's aid.

Really is disheartening. :-(

I hated dumb jocks like that in high school. They always thought they were so cool, but usually they were the most depraved.

Out of 50 party goers, not one stood up for him? They were ALL that sick in the head. Shame. I hope this kid is ok. And I hope everyone responsible for this assault is put into the spotlight and punished. Twisted little punks.

Geez! What is going through kids minds these days. People know when they are assaulting someone even when they are drunk. Poor boy! Let karma begin!

Some pay the price for what our children are exposed to .. like violent movies and videos .. and the availibiity of porn on the internet for any child to see .. these things do influence children and in a negative way .

What a way to humiliate this young man, rather he was drunk or not! Well the two of them have a chance at it when they check into prison. Now you can experiment with all the men you like...hope the tables don't turn on you.

In all honesty I just can't wrap my head around the fact his happened in HOMER... it's such a sleepy little artsy fishing town. That poor kid! I know people are going to focus on "the dangers of underage drinking" but the people who perpetrated this victimized someone in a vulnerable situation. Underage drinking doesn't make it OK to be raped, ever. EVER.

The school superintendent said, "The simple response to this incident is to blame the parents or school or both. The better response is for the community and school to continue to work together to ensure that the boundaries for our students do not so easily blur."
Please. What kind of human beings get the line blurred that much? Absolutely I say the parents and the students are to blame. I can't blame the school if it didn't happen at the school.
I hate that this child was treated this way, his parents should have been aware of where he was and what he was doing. As for the two who got charged? I am sure it burns to be the main ones held responsible, but that is what happens when you are over 18 and you hang around with people who have not yet turned 18... deal with it, fellas.
