Its to be called the "Carcophagus" becuse you can drive it until you have an accident, and then you can be interred in it as well.

What are those? Golf cart wheels?

Yep... about the same size as a real Mini (circa 1969).

“”Tata Nano: $3,000 Car Coming To U.S.””
-------------------------------
Wow...That’s $200.00 more than what I paid for my “brand spanking new” Ford Mach 1 Mustang ---------------back in 1971.

Bet you wish you had that sucker back (unless you're one of the few fortunate ones who actually babied it over the years and still have it)

Would be good for folks who are struggling...but then again...you might just be better off investing a little more. I would just be curious about #1. safety issues such as this comment
" concerns over the Nano bursting into flames"
And #2. warranty issues.
Does it have a 5 mile warranty or something?
Looks like it has a 2 cylinder engine overseas.
I would think they would make it at-least a 3 Cylinder like the old GEO Metro here in the US.
Might be a little to small for the over 6 foot tall range.
A good bonus....You could probably lift it with your weak hand while doing an oil change with your strong hand. Who needs ramps!

wtf is this
It depends.

No warranty issues. But you may need to utilize public transportation for a few weeks during oil changes -- service stations could be outsourced to India.

There are 2 comments I would like to make here. First why is it I can get 2 Tatas for less money than the ones I purchased for my wife? And is this life post Obama in transportation here in America? I mean he did sign the bills making this not only possible but manditory for the milage limits he is imposing on us.

The car industry strictly controls gas milage and cars with V-eights can be made to run much further on a gallon of gas...but it's that damn oil industry at work again! Just for the record, I predict when vehicles reach fifty miles per gallon you can bet the oil industry will have gas selling at six dollars per gallon plus.

Nah, they're "throw-aways". Just put them in your compactor and then out on the curb for recycling.

I don't understand all the negativity about its size. Not much different than a motorcycle on the turnpike.

These cars have no place on our highways. They will be nothing but death traps in any wrecks. There is no way I would be in one of these on the roads today. Getting out of the big cars is bad enough in a wreck, but there will be no getting out of these.
11:07 AM on 10/17/2012
Until one gets run over by a semi, the occupants killed and lawsuits follow. Getting in a wreck in a car that is half the size of other vehicles on the market is a recipe for disaster.

Thats why people don't drive motorcycles, correct?
09:48 PM on 10/17/2012
motorcycle accident kill one person 2 at most, not a car full of a family of four. The number of motorcycles compared to cars is small. Most people choose not to ride motorcycles.

I wouldn't drive this if you GAVE It to me....NO THANK YOU. This thing gets hit....BYE BYE You are toast. Wouldn't put me or my kids in it.

The headline says "$3,000 car coming to US."

The article says the car will cost $8,000.

So, isn't an $8,000 car coming to the US?

It's not that the Smart and Fiat 500 are more expensive;   it's that Americans don't want to drive small, underpowered vehicles even if they are relatively safe.

OKay, if they're selling in America, spend the extra $50 bucks and add the cup holder.
