"I don't have any capital gains. I have a salary. I don't think that's a plus for too many middle class families," ~~~ This is a perfect example of just one way that Romney is out of touch with the average American.

I'm happy for you that you are able to congregate enough savings to participate in the stock market. Great. Unfortunately, all too many Americans aren't.... dare I say, most of us. I could be wrong about that, but I don't think I am. Cheers.

"...Romney is a real good businessman." Says the owner of a strip club. Has he seen ANY evidence that Romney ever operated and managed an actual "business". Leveraged buy-outs and asset-stripping is the opposite of operating a business. Romney liquidated businesses and jobs.

Romney's own business partner boss Mr Bain described the Bain Method -- they avoided operating any "business" -- it got their banking hands dirty. Bain does not support Romney as a Presidential candidate. The entire State of Massachusetts does not support him. I do not see anyone from the Olympics supporting him -- even though he bailed Salt Lake city out with $130 million in Federal Funds. That silence speaks volumes.

Very good points.
I don't recall Mr Romney mentioning that the Federal Government bailed out the Olymipics to the tune of $130 Million.
I do recall that Mr. Romney took or destroyed the financial records of the Olympics.
I wonder how he did it?

I believe it is a total waste of time to try to debate (convince another) on the 2012 elections.
At this point we have all made up our minds, and no one is going to change them.
We hear and see only what supports our views.......
You can see from going to my comments how I feel about the republican platform and how I feel about the democratic platform....
I can go to your comments and see the same.

Done......go Vote and let's get this over

What I would like to encourage is all of us getting the congress out that have openly done all in their power to hurt a president rather than allow him any successes.....thus keeping the American economy struggling more that it had to be.
Since they have a 9% approval rating, I will guess that is one issue we can all come together on.

definately hard to understand
but 2014 is only two years away, and hopefully we will be able to continue to enjoy the foundation that has been built the last 4 years for the next two.....Obama care will kick in 2014......and the people will definately start to appreciate the stability of knowing that they can buy affordable health care and that their SS and Medicare for their parents are not going to be put on the chopping block. From there we can do anything.

oops...romney caught in another lie...............

A study by the University of Massachusetts and the Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy shows that the percentage of women in senior positions during his tenure actually declined. It went from 30% when Romney took office to 27% when he left and up to more than 33% after the new governor took over.
03:31 PM on 10/18/2012
The White House pays women 17% less than their male counterparts. Why didn't Obama up their salaries in the last four years. He must be against womens' equal pay. He also threw Hillary and Rice under the bus regarding Benghazi, but he bailed Holder out. He must have deep respect for women. Sure.

A dose of reality when looking at the long term.

The ONLY reason that this is a close election is because we are still in the worst recession since the great depression (we are on the cusp of recovery but not there yet). This automatically favors the challenger.

Because its fairly evenly split between the two candidates, this election comes down to the know nothing 5% undecided voter who can be easily ma ni pul ated and l ie d to. I predict tat this will be the last time that they will have the power to change an election.

We will recover from this recession.

In 2016, the republicans won't have a poor economy to boost their support. They will actually have to run on their own ideas, which are widely unpopular outside their 25% base.

Which means, unless they change fundamentally, the republicans will never do as well nationally as they are doing now.

The changing demographics in this country favor democrats by a substantial margin.

I believe that Obama will win in 2012. It may be close, but he will win.

If that happens, what does that say about republicans when given the best chance they had to win the presidency and they failed even that?

Food for thought.

totally agree with your thoughts.

However when all this $ 1 Billion advertising smoke clears out on Novemner 5th we will be faced with the same problem we have now.
The house of Representitives will be Republican controlled and the Senate will be Democratic but Republican controlled because of Senators McConnells constant fillabuster votes. Nothing will change unless the Republican House of Representitives starts doing the Job they were elected to do which is introduce legislation to run the country. That legislation then goes to the Senate where they provide advice and consent and then the President signs the Laws. Sounds good but if the House does not provide a draft Law that is acceptable to the senate and the president NOTHING HAPPENS. We can't have 4 more years of this madness.
The President will be forced to govern by decree. He will run the country while the House plays with it's self in the dark corners of the congress.

It is possible that Obama can at least get some job stimulus bills passed if only because it is in the political interest of the republicans to have full economic recovery by 2016, so that their candidate, if elected in 2016, doesn't inherit the m e ss they left for Obama.  So on a purely s e l fish basis, we might get some cooperation.

4 years ago we were all trying to figure out where to put our money as banks unexpectedly closed/merged and we had lost 50% of our investments......lots of my friends actually started stuffing $ in the mattress, hoping they would still have a mattress after losing their jobs, they thought that they would get to actually retire from and losing their pensions as vulture capitalists took over companies and dismantled them
We had just come through a terrible terrible time when we found out that we had been lied into a terrible war and the world had grown to hate us for creating wars on innocent people........
We had suffered the first attacks against us from a foreign entity that took 3000+ American Lives
We wondered day after day as we got orange and red alerts every time our Presidents approval rating went down.
and that is just a small part of the fears as we wondered about another great depression, especially for those who actually knew about the great depression and how long it took to come out of it....
Am I better off than I was 4 years ago?
Holy Sh t YES
Do I feel more confidant in the man hired to lead my country?
OMG YES

I Can't even put into words the difference of my feelings of security in my world during Clinton and during Obama, and the insecurity and fear during Bushs

I am now wondering if the undecided even understand what the issuse are. I wonder why they are looking for a president to give them something. What have they done for themselves? After all of the fuss, they will still vote the party line in which they are registered. There are many who are already voting so why are they so slow. It is their vote but they can get rid of the I'm the most valuable player mentality.

Whatever! I'm glad the election will not be held up waiting for them to make up their....er...minds. Honestly though, at this point in the campaigns can you have a "mind" and not know which way you want to vote? I'm just asking.

Once again it's a bit obvious how the liberal bias media tries to discredit Romney supporters by emphasizing the only Romney supporter owns a Gentleman's Club (where the women wear bikinis), and the others are physical therapist, psychotherapist and college students who feel Romney stance on creating jobs and Capital Gains tax is not in step with their ideas. The 5 million LOW WAGE jobs created in the past 31 months are surely not what they are looking for, perhaps they can apply as one of Mrs. Obama's personal staff members at $100k minimum.

Who cares what this "stacked" audience says? Here is the problem for Obama and her "little" helper, Candy Crowley.

At first an ELATED Wolf Blitzer told his audience of dozens: "Here are the results. Forty-six percent say President Obama won the debate. Thirty-nine percent say Governor Romney won the debate."

But then it all went downhill for Wolfie as he discovered who REALLY WON! "When we dig deeper into the numbers, we're seeing Romney did score points with viewers tonight. Look at this. Fifty-eight percent, 58% of debate watchers say Romney would better handle the economy. Forty percent say President Obama would."

"That's issue number one. Forty-nine percent say Romney would better handle health care, compared to 46% for President Obama."

"We also asked who would better handle the issue of taxes. Fifty-one percent say Romney; 44% say President Obama."

"Fifty-nine percent say Romney would do a better job on the deficit. Thirty-six percent say President Obama would do a better job on the deficit."

This seems to be validated by the Rasmussen poll this morning (taken after the second debate) showing Mitt gaining another percentage point lead on Obama. It was a mistake to debate Mitt, if he really wanted to win this. the negative advertising was working, now people are seeing a reasonable man that is an excellent option to what we have.
