Governor Cuomo stated that New York has now had two hundred-year storms in two years, referring to Irene and Sandy.

Seems like it's time for the federal and state governments to come up with a plan to deal with climate change.

Unraveling the mystery . .

The insurance companies are coming up with a plan to account for the ravages of climate change.  That's a fancy way of saying they've found another reason to increase their revenue stream.

I have no doubt about that given the increase in destruction we've seen with wildfires, droughts, severe thunderstorms, tornadoes and hurricanes.

Climate change is a global issue and, unfortunately, it seems as though much of the world is still unconvinced. Might as well get used to this.

Well, if the U.S. showed some leadership on the issue that would be a tremendous move in the correct direction.

You are so wrong. Most of the world is convinced, but they aren't going to act to do something about it if the largest economies (and polluters) in the world aren't going to. Have to lead from the front.

Sad thing is that no one will hire, but work to death the poor souls that normally do this type of cleanup..

In Mitt's America, a state that is under water should expect no help from the state next door that is under water too!

It sounds like your blaming Mitt for the storm...

When everybody knows it's Bush's fault!

Well.. it's hardly "unthinkable". It was a hurricane fro cryin' out loud. And it could have been FAR worse. It could have lived up to the headlines.

It lived up to the headlines. Ask anyone who was in it or anyone who had family members in it. This kind of devastation is not the NORM.

My son is in it. It was a hurricane. I think the headlines were over the top. Then again, the mayor of Atlantic City must have thought so as well. So I dunno.. could have been much worse.

I think it's the size of the area affected more than the magnitude of damage to a single city.

Unthinkable? That people would have to use chainsaws to clean up after a hurricane?

Unthinkable? And the first picture is of Bloomberg saying stupidly that there is a storm?
