His brother said "the jury reached the right decision"..wonder if you would feel the same if that was your little sister who was gang raped and then killed. This is a travesty of justice and that sneer on this cowards face says it all..he literally got away with murder!!

Please. I see this everyday here: it's "Gandhi". If mean to we keep quoting him as a revered authority, we should have sufficient respect to spell his name correctly, no?

I see that the defense team did their job.
This is not a city volunteer kind of guy, who help old ladies to cross the street, and send money for charity organization, no! Better than that, this is not an innocent mind, caught in a hypnotizing situation, throwing him like a puppet in a spiraled time, where from a minute to next one, he became this merciless rap-ist grave digger.

His actions prove on thing. He was a hidden criminal, desperately in search for an opportunity. The perfect environment mix with the alcohol, served as the hand that unleashed his mental blockage. Remember people, alcohol is a revealer of your controlled or repressed true nature.
You want to know who your friend is, make him drink. . .

Yes, but he - Jesus - did not hate the people who committed them. Jesus did not teach hate, he taught Love. Love God totally and your fellow man as yourself. No room for hating people, only their actions.

How you deduct that "I" hate people is beyond me ! Of course their inhuman actions are what all detest ... that would include me !

Gladys, I know what you're saying.

I came across a quotation earlier this week that hit home for me. Something to the effect. . .

"Ditch the hate, but keep the rage."

You don't hate - I know you don't - but I do feel your rage.

Peace, hon.

My "love" of all people causes me to weep for those who are innately inhuman or voluntarily inhuman and those whose lives were so outrageously taken ... it's as painful to me ... why, because many are parents as I am !!

To me a life sentence is worse than death. Although I did not know the perpetrator as a child, I do know that military training and multiple deployments in a war zone can make a once docile human being into an animal. Just as we cannot predict what a frightened animal will do, we cannot imagine what a human being is capable of in that situation. The thing that bothered me is the sneer on his face.

A frightened animal does not sit and premeditate "attacks". They were not so "frightened" that they had no time to sit around playing cardsand drink and premeditate a plan to gang rape a child and the murder of her and her family. You do a disservice to every decent and moral man/woman in our armed services, by comparing him with them. Sociopathic behavior is not caused by war, by emptying out jails to fill enlistment quotas(because Bush was to chicken to draft people) puts sociopaths in situations where they think they can get away with it.

Yeah, that smirk. I'm not sure how I feel about the death penalty, but I'm having a difficult time not feeling like it applies in a situation like this.

Nervous smiling. How do you think his cell mates will feel about a child rapist and killer who stained the reputation of US soldiers everywhere. A life time in prison is just what this "man" deserves.

This doesn't sound a like stress induced crime.

It sounds like a combination of boredom, drunkenness, and a belief that they could do anything in a war zone without consequence.

Course the court that gave him a 20 yr only is assuming that Muslims are no human.. I bet if he raped a sheep and killed the herd he would have received more than the 20 yr sentence. Yet we wonder why "they" hate us.. great way to win the "hearts and minds" of Arabs and Muslims, what greater example than this "brave" soldier and those knights that tortured innocent people in Bagram, Abu Ghreib and Gitom. With PR like this who needs professionals.

It's not a case of bleeding heart. They were not going to sentetnce a wat boi. to death just cos he killed sum muslems. Get real guys... the folks who sat on this jury were probably made up of the 85% of Americans who don't have a passport and /or have never left the country. It was case of the arabs being the 'other' out there who are all terrorists...you can thank the Bush/Cheyney propoganda machine for that I say the sooner Cheyney has another of his heart mumurs and this time it silences him FOR GOOD the sooner the airwaves and talk shows can start inviting on other guests who have more meaningful banter to share.

Oh, when will you learn this one simple lesson;
Don't send your young soldier across this wild foam;
At the heat of his life you see he goes crazy,
And he kills pretty girls in the tree grove alone.
