You're "thanking" the wrong people -- the ones responsible for this are the owners/CEOs. The don't want to pay decent wages, benefits or anything and thought since they pulled this stunt once--bankruptcy--and made millions--they'd try it again -- and oh yeah, give themselves huge bonuses -- and dump on the employees once again -- the judge said no way--I'm sure the plan was to file bankruptcy--get huge bonuses and start the company up again -- and make even more money --

Twinkkie lovers, why not flood the union members with comments. Nothing the company can do now except lock the doors.

They could give up the 300% bonuses they gave themselves and give the bakers what THEY want instead of being greedy.

Hold up. Wait a minute. Did this article say something about Drake? What does Drake, and in particular, my Devil Dogs, have to do with this? I KNOW they aren't saying the are getting rid of my Devil Dogs, because if so then that's a BIG HUGH problem.... Oh, tell me it ain't so! :-(

They aren't going anywhere -- They were just trying to grab even more money for themselves (the CEO's) and it's not working -- at the 11th hour -- they'll come back.

Yeah, like Hostess won't be bought up by some conglomerate and stay in business. It's all a scam by the corporation. I doubt that the Baker's Union's demands were outrageous in this financial climate. Like management is living in middle class neighborhoods and can't concede a few things to the working people. Give me a break. This whole Hostess debacle is in retaliation for Obama being reelected and corporate America is going to throw temper tantrums for a while until they get their azzzes kicked after the House goes Democratic in two years. I say, if you want to do business in America, you MUST pay a living wage to your employees. Or else take your business out of the country and lose your citizenship.
02:57 PM on 11/21/2012
you don't need to be a citizen to get into the system of social security are welfare in this country you just got to cross the boarders and sign some papers they give it to anybody even if they don't need it. A company owner could shut down and live happy the rest of his life where ever he chooses the regular person can't so you can try to live on Obamas share dream but you won't see any money coming to you.If the government loses all the rich to another country what would you do with nothing I hope all the big business follow Hostess and see what happens it make the Muslims real happy to see America fall under a Muslim President

John, you are misinformed. Social Security was paid for by the workers who put money into it since they began working, probably at age 16 or so, 40+, 50+ years ago. I hope you educate yourself a little about this subject because frankly your ignorance is showing. And your comments about Muslims being happy to see America fall are just daffy. My advice to you is this. It's time for you to take all your dolls and dishes and leave the play area. That's right. There is probably a flight leaving America tonight but you won't be welcome anywhere but a third world country. And don't let the door hit your buttsky on the way out.
03:14 PM on 11/21/2012
WOW, you ARE a complete goof! The President's not a Muslim. As for the rest of your "statement"...well...professional help is always available, if you want it...
03:29 PM on 11/21/2012
why don't the unions buy up these failing businesses and run them as non-profits. After all, anyone can run a business, its easy!!!

I thougth the problem was that they don't sell and that is why the company is in trouble. They have a long shelve life for a reason....because they are going to be in the shelves for a looong while

2.3 billion and they can't make it work? Try reducing the management pay I mean all they do is count the money anyway.
03:31 PM on 11/21/2012
Another good reason for the unions to buy the failing companies. Pay some members less to count the money for the union executives. Running a business is easy and there is NO risk. Jump in unions the water is warm.
