Kobe started accumulating NBA points when he's 18. MJ started when he's 22. It's not difficut.

Should he set a record, lets see if the record hold.

Not to mention Jordan took a couple of years off and also missed most of a season with a broken foot.

RIGHT ON KOBE! Love watching a legend in action still. I remember when he first came into the league. I've had the pleasure to be a kid growing into a teen watching Jordan, and a teenager growing into an adult watching Kobe! Hands down the two best individual players in NBA history. Being an LA native I bleed purple and gold. It's going to be an emotional day for millions of us when he retires. If you didn't grow up here in the 90's & 00's you just don't know.

When you see someone average 50ppg and 25 rebounds you let me know. Wilt Chamberlain always has been and always will be the best player of all time.

I wanna like kobe as a person first, i mean i respect his game but i hate his OH IM WAY BETTER then you cocky attitude it just irks me when someone is good at something and they just feel the need to shove it down in your face these types should spend more time teaching and showing others how to perfect their skills that's why i prefer, scottie pippen, and michael jordan even shaq over kobe anyday.
07:19 AM on 12/06/2012
you think michael jordan doesn't have an "I'm better than you" attitude? please. Michael jordans biggest fan is michael jordan.

Kobe does it at the expense of the team and often at the expense of winning.

Those rings belong more to Phil Jackson than Kobe.
His record of winning before Jackson-- zilch.
His chances of winning another one without Jackson--zilch.
I am taking bets on that. You game?

Jabbar, Malone, Jordan, and Chamberlain.

That's some serious company. He's not my favorite player, he's not my favorite person but he's one of the best player's of all time.

If you look at the list , all those guys were ballhogs ... it is part of the DNA of a scorer ... scroers have to have the ball to shoot it and make buckets ... scorers make buckets (Uncle Drew)

Great. He still needs to do his time for raping a girl and then "settling" the crime of rape out of court. Only then will those 30k points count.
08:29 AM on 12/06/2012
Get your facts straight. The criminal case was not settled out of court. Kobe was willing to go all the way to trial to prove his innocence. The accuser refused to testify and the charges were dropped. If it was me, and I was raped I would go all the way to court to prove it and make sure the person was punished for their crime. This girl thought she would be able to settle out of court for milliions. Kobe refused to settle and wanted to go to trial. If you are telling the truth to begin with, you go to trial, and testify. Since her original plan backfired, she filed a civil suit which was settled out of court for about $100,000. But she got something out of it, which I'm sure helped her out when she got pregnant a few months later.

Wow. Scoring points in basketball. Almost as difficult as randomly throwing a pebble into the air and (gasp!) actually end up with it hitting the ground.

This Heat fan has to give props. The names on the list that he just joined says it all. As a Lebron James fan, I can understand the undue criticism levied from people who have no appreciation for Kobe's extraordinary talent, hard work, and determination to reach the pentacle of basketball excellence. Kobe: You deserve your rightful place in sports history. Congrats.

If James can keep it up, he may get the highest total ever. He's 3rd in lifetime ppg average.
