Let's get this straight. She is quitting a $125,000 a year job to help her husband who earned $5,000 total on his fishing boat and other ventures last year. I think it is definitely time for the IRS to begin an in-depth investigation of her and her husband's tax returns, paying special attention to how an Alaska fisherman, racer and unionized North Slope pipeline worker only earned $5,000 last year. That claim has to be as illegitimate as her daughter's child.

She's got a book deal and she'll get loads of $$ on speaking engagements she'll start doing. She'll be jet setting July 26th.

Count on it, Sarah. Both politically now, and literally, later. Such is life.

Just don't expect a giant media memorial for either. Michael Jackson you ain't.

What the heck is she talking about? Why won't someone flat out ask her just exactly how it is that she intends to progress energy independence, etc., outisde of office? She makes absolutely no sense.

I agree- she always SAYS that, but then NEVER has anything concrete to back it up. What exactly is she going to do? What is the plan? We didn't even know how while she's been in office.

Sarah never fails to offend people with her polarizing rhetoric. In her beachside interview she described how exhilarating it was to spend time in Dillingham, an "an unpretentious, hard-working, heartland-of-America community." (Dillingham is the heartland?) As she did during the campaign, she tried to score political points in small, rural communities by referring to the people there as "real Americans." If one doesn't live in one of these places (or agree with her politics presumably), are they "fake" Americans?

This interview is just recycled campaign rhetoric, and obviously staged to make her look working-class rather than the prima donna she is. I'm an unpretentious, hard-working, American who happens to live in Seattle - am I chopped liver? Sarah needs someone to coach her on how to say good things about people without being so divisive.

Oh yeah, the chest waders and hauling in fish nets- all real, but no mistake that she invited the mean old media to interview her on THAT stage! Master Manipulator.

I've been to Dillingham.
'Heartland' is hardly the right word to describe it.

Bailin' Palin is cutting her losses, and going after the big bucks. That's all there is to it.

Nope wrong analysis, but she does have a million times more integrity than your Chicago politician that you voted for. Obama would have crumbled under the attacks that she has endured. She decided to fake out the media and the left and ain't it funny how we're STILL talking about her? Hmmm, could she be the one to beat Obama? You betcha!

Obama never gave the media so much red meat that he would EVER be under the attacks she "endured".

BTW, quitting means she didn't endure...
05:42 PM on 07/07/2009
Her decision was the most self centered and self seeking. if she was really concerned about the welfare of Alaska she would not have quit.

I think quite the opposite. If she is concerned about Alaska she would quit.

Hurry up and get out there Sarah. Obama is thinking about another stimulus package even though the first one didnt work. We need you to speak against that huge cap and trade bill which we know does nothing but give more power to the incompetent government we are supporting. And who knows how many car companies and banks we will bail out so hurry and start speaking out .
