Ok, it comes down to this, does it? Either we pray for churches (wrap your head around that anomaly) or we lay down landmines to ward off the ne'er-do-wells.

The baggers are stalking everyone, now. Even their own kind.

For good reason.

Look what goes on in them.

But according to our NRA, guns don't kill people.

Bizarre saying....surely if you have a gun....you're a gunman (or woman!)

Only gunmen have guns.

Strange that this article is in the Relgion section. I guess the shootings in Newtown should have been filed under education.

This would never had happened if everyone had their own M-16, or 650 magnum with 100 round speedloaders and 500 round clips that cost 2200 each

I think the use snipers in church bell towers would act as a deterrent and be much more effective in keeping their flocks "safe"...............

I certainly hope you meant this facetiously, otherwise you are totally crazy.

OK, so now we need an armed guard at every school, church, mall, movie theater, post office, college campus, airplane and train.

Ain't it great to be free?
07:24 PM on 12/23/2012
We need an armed police officer at every church or better yet we need to arm every Priests....

Should have had armed guards at the Church door,or maybe she should have had a assault weapon on her to protect herself. Isn't that right NRA

If only she had been packing a machine pistol along with the Christmas lights. And if only the pastor had a few Bushmasters and AK-47's in the broom closet. And why not give the children a few had grenades? Just imagine how many more people could have killed. Owning guns has been proven to increase the chance of being shot exponentially.

I think he is referring to a 5 year old study that showed that homes with guns had more shooting victims than homes without guns. The problem with that study and the one current presented by the NRA which states that areas with gun laws restricting ownership have more shootings is that neither one takes into account the violence of the surrounding neighborhoods.
For example, it makes sense that areas aren't going to pass laws restricting gun ownership unless they are already having shootings. Therefore, yes, areas which restrict gun ownership will have more shootings than areas with no laws restricting gun ownership.

There are so many mentally unstable people in America.
How can anyone honestly say that more guns is the answer?
08:17 PM on 12/23/2012
i'll ask you the same question i've asked other people who refuse to answer it. police officers, security guards, military mean and women, secret service agents...and so on and so forth..are all people too, with a potential to be unstable as well. do you suggest banning the SAME weapons for them, that you suggest banning for the public?

I will answer your question - all of those individuals you've listed go through a battery of initial and ongoing training and evaluation before being handed a service weapon. They are held seriously accountable if any one is killed with that service weapon, either by themselves or someone else who might gain access to it. The opposite is true for any Tom, Dick, or Harry who decides to waltz in to a gun show in most states and can purchase almost any type of weapon they want with no background check, no drivers license, and no training.
