I have to applaud HP for these little snippets it posts all the time with just enough information to start a ****storm of comments but nothing to contribute to a little understanding. I guess it's the new cyber-journalism.

How about explaining what position Brennan held in relation to Rizzo at the time and what the workflow of each was relating to interrogation techniques.

I know that if I stuck my head in the office next door and started criticizing a colleagues work that had nothing to do with my specific responsibilities, it wouldn't go over real well.

Context, context, context. You're right; too much of the time, HuffPo is as bad as any other news media outlet in failing to provide context for major stories.

Because IF President Obama prosecuted TORTURE he'd have a different nominee and Brennan would be behind bars...
... And we all know the President protects ALL the President's men, criminals or otherwise.

It simple, really? Killing American citizens on the orders of "high ranking DOJ officals or the president" is constitutional if and only if a liberal democrat is in the WH but "water boarding" three key foreign terrorists by a republican president is an impeachable war crime!

Just ask any good ObamaKoolAid drinking LIBERAL!

I am against opaque drone strikes as i am against water-boarding.  The real difference is that G. W. Bush and Dick Cheney never had a pang.  They got thousands of Iraqis killed for no good reason. Four thousand Americans died for no good reason.  Soldiers must march where the Commander in Chief orders them and that's why they died an honorable death, but they died for nothing.  G.W. has never taken responsibility for his gigantic mess.

Not only that, they laid almost an entire country to ruins. And even now, there is an average of about 22 suicides a day still occuring by Iraq veterans as a result of PTSD.
Also waterboarding can cause extreme pain, dry drowning, damage to lungs, brain damage from oxygen deprivation, other physical injuries including broken bones due to struggling against restraints, lasting psychological damage, and death. Adverse physical consequences can manifest themselves months after the event, while psychological effects can last for years.

So since Obama's man was never against that "torture" method, why is Obama picking him?

Political hypocrisy?

Did you read the article. It quotes what Brennan said at the hearings last week. He personally objected to it, and expressed it privately to others, but he was not involved in that part of the agency. That means to me that he could not have affected any change to the policy in the position he was in.

This is a concept that never seemed to register with some politicians, especially Republicans. When you are a civil servant (a federal employee), you are neither Democrat or Republican. You are there to carry out the policies of the President, no matter who he is.

The most partisan Administration I ever worked for was George W. Bushes. He appointed too many partisans, and it spilled over into the work of civil servants. Bushes people were Convinced that we either didn't know what we were doing (when it was the other way around), or that we were secretly trying to undermind them. It was surreal.

I was on the bus tonight and a scuffle broke out.
I called 9-1-1 and affected a change.

p.s.
I wasn't the bus driver, either.

Proper spelling of a plural last name is NOT to add an es, as you have done several times in your response... No wonder George W. Bush's Administration hired you.

Is our children learning?
