Context is so very important.

Crisis Looms if Defense Cuts Implemented - AP 2/7/13
"If the billions of dollars in cuts are allowed to stand, Panetta said, he would have to throw the country's national defense strategy "out the window,"and the United States would no longer be a first-rate power. "This will badly damage our national defense and compromise our ability to respond to crises in a  Read More...

I thought there was an 8 minute rule. Sessions has been whining for about 15 minutes. Get the hook.

Senator Cruz was arguing that, although he has no evidence, Hagel may be actually sleeping with the enemy and secretly sending uranium to North Korea because there is no evidence he isn't.
TheStupid is breathtaking.

Pure jealousy on behalf of former Hagel's friends and colleagues. How could he become secretary of defense and not us!

Senator Cruz (R-Texas) even LOOKS like Joe McCarthy.

I'm convinced that the GOP has simply given up all pretense of being a national party. They keep damaging their image as though it didn't matter. None of this innuendo will win them a vote they didn't already have... do they think the rest of America won't be REPULSED to see one of their most reviled former members re-incarned on the national stage?

At long last... have they no shame?

Hagel will eventually become O's Defense Secretary and it will send the wrong message to our enemies (the ones libs seem to have no problem with) in the Middle East, and will only lead to a further deterioration in the morale of our US armed forces worldwide. Most people know what the agenda is of O and his people and that is a concern to so many - they are both ignorant of the truths the world is facing and always seem to support people that wish only our demise.

Thank you and I bet you are right. And then we can see what the conservative/Republican/Tea Party's next move will be. But I've heard they even have enough votes to end a filibuster which would be really interesting.

Of course the hard-line GOP are horrified that one of their own is now on President Obama's team. They know he knows the GOP's plans.

The GOP opposition are not thinking about what our nation needs, they are covering their backsides.

Senator Ted Cruz argues that Mr. Hagel could have given "speeches to radical or extreme groups". Like you with the Tea Party, Mr. Cruz?

Watching the CSPAN program "Defense Sec. Conference Committee", on Hagal's Nomination.

The Republicans have been hammered about their Lies and Misinformation. Sen. Bill Nelson took them down point by point. Sen. McCaskill, shoved their Insinuations and Lies back down their throats. Yet, they keep on using the same Lies and Misinformation they have been using. Their Lies are proven as Lies, and they keep on Lying.

The GOP is a very pathetic party. They have become soulless and blatantly evil. They twist facts into lies. They insinuate but offer no proof. They wrap their insinuations and lies in the American Flag, and ignore reality like it does not exist. It is obvious that only a Cheney Like Neo-Con would ever be acceptable to these people.

You can fix ignorant, but you can't cure stupidity. I love the way Nelson put Cruz down. The fact that Cruz clerked for Chief Justice Rehnquist tells me as much about Rehnquist as it does about Cruz. 0+0=-2
