"You can disagree, but if you're disagreeable, people don't forget that."

That's so true and Johnny Mc has written the book on being disagreeable since the 2008 elections.

This is all about politics for the Republicans.  They don't want more information and they know that Hagel will be confirmed.

This is about Iraq.  Hagel's position on Iraq is where the country  Read More...

WHEN did the GOP appoint McCain spokes person for them???
12:51 PM on 02/18/2013
The GOP/TP has no official spokes-lunatic. Whoever is yelling the loudest at a given time or is on TV at a given time is considered their "spokesman". No one really wants to be considered "leading" that hateful, obstructionist, racist, sexist, broken party.

Chuck Hagel has a history of supporting drone attacks. My issue is that we are already using drones in the United States and with his history will he allow further torture and the so called slow kill of American citizens to continue. Regardless of National Security we can no longer continue to close our eyes to the use of surveillance and technology to spy on citizens when their health is at stake due to electromagnetic directed energy assaults. The remote neural monitoring is used for everything now adays. No longer do intelligence and law enforcement strive to get to the truth they want it done secretly.

I was rather looking forward to the notion that we would not have a Secretary of War for a couple of years. Hagel schmagel, whoever, it would be nice to not be in perpetual war....

"No, I don't believe he's qualified," this from the man who choose Palin as his running mate, sorry John you should be disqualified from passing judgement on anyone.

Exactly, now we will never be rid of ole sister Sarah!
12:56 PM on 02/18/2013
Oh, she's gone....so very gone.....has no credibility now, not even to the fading Teabaggers. She was a destructive force in the GOP and they are paying for her nomination now. She was the reason I did NOT vote for McCain when he ran. I was NOT going to send a vote her way, no how!! But all she's good for now is an occasional interview on TV that causes most of America to just shake our collective heads and feel sorry for her!

""No, I don't believe he's qualified . . ."

McCain has proven to be a blatant hypocrite. First he claimed (in 2008) that Hagel would be considered for HIS Secretary of Defense if he won the presidency, then his opposition was due to not enough Benghazi information (which Hagel had nothing to do with), then it was the fact that Hagel bucked the party line when he was in office and now it's because Hagel isn't qualified to be Secretary. What a joke he is. I used to have great respect for McCain, but he is now just a shadow of his former self.

McCain should go away and fade into the sunset... and take with him his Pal Lindsey and return to their alternate universe and serve tea at the mad hatters teaparty...;)

There is speculation among pundits that the Secretary Haegle will be "damaged" and less effective in his role due to the beatings he received in the confirmation hearing and all of the denouncement by his former peers and the manner in which he handled it at the time.

I disagree. There is plenty of evidence, heretofore, that Haegle knows how to speak his mind and can assert himself in articulate and appropriate ways and retain his independence; Heaegle speaks on principle, not on personality, which is more than I can say for his interrogators.

If and when the need for him to come before them again, I predict he will NOT allow himself to be kicked around in an attempt to be diminished. He will serve with the authority of the position, with his own relationships to DOD and Military, and he will do so with principled character and integrity and duty to service. He will deal with the interrogators, respectfully, but, he will remain true to the issue(s) at hand and be clear and firm, and, more importantly, professional, and if they cannot rise to the occassion, they will look and act the fools that they often are. "The secret's in the sauce"...the actual job he will do and can do.

I actually McCain, Kerry, and Graham in Bagram....Kerry is total piece of human garbage.

When John McCain was running for president,he said that he wanted Chuck Hagel as his secretary of defense, now Chuck Hagel is not good for the position. He is not good for the position only because he is chosen by President Obama.
11:40 AM on 02/18/2013
McCain made a living out of smashing up aircraft and getting himself shot down and sitting out the war in Hanoi. Sounds like one screw-up trying to judge a real hero.

It is a shame McCain's retirement isn't imminent.
