It is quite astounding how many false accusations Hagel's brother Republicans bring against him, for personal or impersonal reasons. Yet, they willfully ignore his Achilles heel. Hagel originally got elected to the Senate by a wise margin in an election which all polling showed him about to lose by a wide margin to his Democratic opponent. To what extent were the voting machines responsible for Hagel's  Read More...

No Republican past or present has any right to point out that GW Bush stunk at every job he ever undertook just because he never had any incentive to do anything well. It is also axiomatic that truth telling is taboo in the GOP.

Republicans think that governing is a game they can indulge in with no consequences.

The largest intelligence failure in US history and the Bush administration and republics were against us finding out how it all happened. They opposed a 9/11 commission. Yet they are placing Benghazi at the same level of 9/11/2001.

http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/04/29/bush.911.commission/

The current game is to exact a price of one of their own to whom they feel have betrayed them. When will they care about the people they were elected to serve?

The GOP have never cared about the voters but they are deeply in debt to their donors and future employers.

It's personal because it's business as usual. They act like every issue is personal and then they can stand bold despite any logic to the contrary.

HAGEL F *CKIN WITH JEWS REMBER NEVER AGAIN AND WE MEAN IT LACKEY!Damaged Goods: Hagel's Brand Suffers from Confirmation Battle
The Republicans' dogged vetting of Hagel, primarily through freshman Senator Ted Cruz (TX), has achieved a largely unprecedented result, writes Gur. Instead of coasting to confirmation, his GOP background giving Obama a talking point about his own bipartisanship, "Hagel will begin his tenure with a level of partisan suspicion and dislike unknown since the end of Donald Rumsfeld’s term in 2006."

And, as one "veteran Democratic activist" told the Times, not all the enmity towards Hagel comes from conservatives. "Democrats will be relieved if he’s gone," the source said; "they don’t like him on Israel, on Iran and because he’s a Republican."

If confirmed, Hagel will need to tread lightly, especially regarding the United States' role in the conflict between Israel and Iran. The 2012 Democratic National Convention showed Obama's base faces an identity crisis over Israel, as the convention hall erupted into boos and jeers when leaders reinserted language recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of the Jewish state in the party's platform.

Thus, Gur concludes, Hagel will face immense pressure from lawmakers of both parties "watching him closely for any perceived missteps in the years to come" if he is, in fact, confirmed. And Obama's uncompromising attempt to muscle Hagel into his Cabinet may lead to widespread public awareness and distrust of his foreign policy much earlier than he would have liked in his second term.

How's that peace and nation building in Iraq working out? Not too well since they still have regular bombings.

McSame and his Twinsey McGraham are just wrong. They have been wrong all along, and they are fighting the truth all the way their ouster in the next election cycle, hopefully.

If they get re-elected again, there is simply no hope for America.

"... roughed him up" more like several republican senators have acted more like Pole Dancers and showed their "Backsides".

At one time I had very high regard for John McCain. He used to act like the Officer and Gentleman he was once trained to be. His image of late has become a little tea stained. Lindsey Graham is another story.

This is a neo-con issue. Those that want a new war with iran ( the MIC and the proisraeli group ) are working to block his nomination.

Michael Glodfarb, a so-called "conservative" blogger is described as a bomb thrower for making things up and through a network of "brothers" is able to have it go viral and an issue. The NYT article that reflects in this man has someone claiming that his files were hacked to get personal info. This brings up the fact that the three top countries engaged in hacking the US are
: China, France and ISRAEL. The campaign against the Prssident's reelection was headed by Netanyahu and now the smear campaign against Senator Hagel is based in his so-called anti Israel positions. Clearly, the Israeli's are hacking and passing infor to these unscrupulous people like Goldfarb- That much is clear, the US government should unmask these spies who are targeting the country in a vulnerable way.

Hagel's the right man because out of all the Republicans that believed the war to Iraq, NONE of them SOUGHT THE TRUTH IN 8 YEARS.

Hagel is American FIRST. Perhaps that's why they dislike him, BUT AMERICAN CITIZENS WANT HAGEL IN, AND WE'LL FIRE A FEW FAKE OUTRAGERS TO DO SO. THE ONE HONEST REPUBLICAN, AND YOU DON'T WANT HIM IN, EH?

Schtookas!

So everyone has finally figured out that the attack on Hagel is personal. Gee whiz, someone should alert the media to this fact. With John McCain of course its personal. He will never get over the fact that America preferred Barack Obama to him and his mamma grizzley partner Sarah Palin. McCain wonders why he's held in such low esteem, just look to Alaska. As for Lindsey Graham, this worthless dweeb has been sore at the Democrats since his failure to get Bill Clinton kicked out of office.NUFF SAID!!
