It's not the video games...this kid was over indulged and when 'junior' didn't get his own way (for likely the first time ever) he over-reacted, as any spoiled kid never taught restraint would act. And he deserves to be locked away for a long time, in an attempt to learn how to behave in society.

These parents installed a surveillance camera to make sure the kid did his chores.

That sounds pretty strict to me.

But, Chairman Nancy says video games are GOOD for you...especially the ones that let you pretend to kill people....

I don't believe the video game defense. There are thousands of children who play these games with no issues at all. Perhaps we need to encourage parents to have their children psychologically examined before buying these games.

Must not have been much of a gun safe.

Well it could have been worse for the Christian parents, he could have walked in and told them he was Gay, supportive of gun control and for secular public education... Clear signs of a teen marked by the Beast.

having your sleeping body shot up by your teen-age kid who is under the same roof is about as bad as it gets

It's a stretch to blame the video game in this instance...the teen said he'd wanted to kill his parents for YEARS.

The child is hearing voices, that would mean it was not the games that caused this but a psychotic illness.  Can reporters get anything right anymore??

What a mindset in this country. Look, if you drink and drive and kill someone it's your fault, not the cars fault, not the liquor manufacturer, it's you..If you get a gun and kill someone, it's you, not the gun, not the video game, it's you....

It IS the person...however, I do wonder how many killings wouldn't have happened if it weren't for the *convenience* of guns. (And before you accuse me, NO, I'm not making a case for making guns illegal, or taking anyone's guns away from them)

I wonder if he understands now that he cant play video games in Jail??

They had cameras installed to see if he did his chores? He thought of killing them for years, and he is now only 14 .Some family dynamics going on here , lets see how it plays out in court

That makes sense because... oh wait it doesn't. It would be easy to say that an entire generation is faulty but it doesn't work that way. And besides that generation will someday be running this country. What will you do then? I don't totally disagree with you but you know you can't judge anyone by the actions of others.
