The whiskey should have been stored in a more secure place considering its value, shame on the owner.

Whiskey, much like wine, varies in value depending on age, year it was produced and where it was from. The rarer and older the whiskey and the more famous its brewery, the more valuable. Given this was brewed in 1912, it's right at 100 years old. Not cheap or easily found stuff.

Distillery/distilled. Otherwise you are spot on. I have seen some very old bottles of Pappy VanWinkle going for astronomical amounts of money.

Never know...there's collectors who collect anything. As far as it's value goes, it's worth whatever the highest bidder wants to pay for it.

Well, I feel certain Mr. Saunders subscribes to to the words of infamous Walter Claude Dunkenfield, to wit; "I always keep a supply of stimulant handy in case I see a snake--which I also keep handy".

80 yr old whiskey?? and she left it out??
01:01 AM on 03/24/2013
where was she and why would anyone leave whiskey worth that kind of money unsecured. I don't believe her. especially as he can not be found to tell his side. she sent him away and now the insurance will pay for stolen property at current estimated value as evaluated from third party auction house.

What are you talking about? "Saunders, 62, of Irwin, was charged with receiving stolen property and theft. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday." and "Saunders initially denied drinking the whiskey when questioned by police, but Pritts said a DNA linked him to three of the empty bottles."
It pays to read the entire article.
