Now, the problem with North Korea is escalating into America being afraid to test one of our missiles (a test that has been scheduled for months) because it might make the Asian Baby in North Korea throw a bigger tantrum.

Time to pull the plug on pudgy, and maybe those poor people in North Korea might actually get something to eat instead of him and his Army.

They have nukes! You know things that ruin your backyard party?

You people act like they are a child who is throwing too much sand in the sandbox.

Is the delay of the missle test, restraint on our part, or did we just blink first?

Actually, we've turned our back and are already in a run away mode.

I haven't been a Hagel fan, but I applaud him on this one. He's been "there" and he's not going to jeopardize our kids if he can avoud it. Maybe if GWB and Cheney had been so thoughtful we wouldn't have Arlington packed full.

Bad Form from the new SecDef but then he was Obama's pick.
05:39 PM on 04/07/2013
Your a fool. It's perfect form. That type of launch or even one from a SSBN could have been seen as a attack on North Korea by the North Korean, Why give them a excuse. Now if North Korea does go forward with a Missile launch in the direction of another nation (South Korea or Japan). We can respond with force. Or even bring down any of their test with interceptors.
05:48 PM on 04/07/2013
why should we allow this little freak to dictate to us what we are or are not going to do?
06:12 PM on 04/07/2013
"Why give them a excuse." Who the frick needs excuses? Nobody's in charge taking down excuses. He threatened to nuke us - we should send in the battleships and stealth bombers before the little creep hits a button - on purpose or by mistake.
04:25 PM on 04/07/2013
The world see N. korea as a real threat with nukes, why did we stop them when we had the chance?
05:15 PM on 04/07/2013
Because we were going after the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq instead!

Oh wait there weren't any there right?

Remember how bad it was supposed to be with our Gulf War? We were supposed to lose tens-of-thousands of troops to Saddam's well trained army. We lost a couple of hundred with many due to "friendly fire".

Fighting North Korea is like fighting California. They have the people and the weapons but they are all ancient.
05:42 PM on 04/07/2013
Why??? read your history, We weren't fighting just North Korea but China as well, at the time of the cease fire. We fought the North Korean all the way back up to almost the Chinese border and then China counter-attacked and forced us back to the 38.

We were too spread out and had bad leadership when that happened. We also didn't know Chinese forces were already in NK. Now we can see how many and where each soldier is. Even China is a child compared to the US as a champion MMA fighter. But we won't be for long. All our defense money is going for welfare and food stamps for Obama's recovery.

We should have went ahead with our missile test and used it to see if we could take out the North Korean missile that they moved to its east coast! Getting tired of listening to N.K.

So what if he thinks we're weak, he's dead wrong. I don't get all these people whining about us looking weak, we know we're the most powerful nation in the world, why should we care what this pip squeak thinks?

That may have been true once, right now we don't have a big enough Army to be the most powerful nation in the World, and lots of places already know that. Too bad, you don't!

It isn't about size anymore.  We are, BY FAR, the most technologically advanced military in the world.
07:11 PM on 04/07/2013
It isn't about the army, it is about the finances that pays for that army. If you want a balanced budget, it isn't going to happen by playing army. The Soviet Union fell because of the economics of the cold war, not because of the weapons and armies. We don't want to follow them down that road.

Who care what people think. But looking through the international blogs... people think this was a very intelligent move and uncharacteristic of us. Who knows why.
04:03 PM on 04/07/2013
Is it weak because the US does not want the world and our children to suffer because we are again trying to show how powerful we are? The bottom line is the US needs to stop bullying other countries. If I understand this correctly we are allowed to test missiles and also posses nuclear weapons of mass destruction but if any other country does it we are going to strike? It's astounding to me that so many people in this world from select citizens to the governments that rule these citizens are so willing to say "let's just nuke them!" For real people this is the only planet we have. Launching a nuclear weapon is pretty stupid seeing as you not only harm the people you intended to harm but you also kill yourself in the process. If there were any survivors those people would also eventually become extinct. Have our leaders become that ignorant and pompous that they only think of their own feelings when deciding to attack. Once we learn that we are all one maybe this nonsense can finally stop.

You need to be telling that to pudgy from North Korea!!
08:05 PM on 04/07/2013
I really wish I could tell him myself.

Testing a missile isn't a sign of strength, it's just a test of new tech prior to deployment. The military tests all sorts of weapons and platforms prior to deploying them on a regular bases.
08:10 PM on 04/07/2013
They certainly do test all sorts of weapons prior to deployment. I am not saying that is bad. In fact they should be tested for safety if they MUST be used. What I am saying is that if someone else wants to test their missiles US leaders go crazy. I do think of it as a form of intimidation on the part of the US to launch missile tests while there is clearly a lot of miscommunication going on between both sides. It's like getting picked on in grade school. You see someone doing something really cool, try to mimic their behavior and they get angry with you for trying. Then they show you how much better they can do it right in front of you face. That's kind of how I see it. I think the US made a smart decision this time by not taunting a country that is capable of harming millions of American citizens..
