Congress ready to go to work , really ? more like show up, collect a check, and do nothing , that will create jobs , do nothing that will help the American People in need ,they should just stay home , that way we will not have to pay the light bill

Getting a Kick Out of Liberal Logic

Have they forgotten the "Brady Bill"? I keep hearing back ground checks. Point is, If they did not enforce the Brady bill what make them think additional laws will work?
The second amendment is for the American to own guns period. If you believe that banning assult guns will drop crime.
Think again. Mexico, Your not even allowed one bullet little alone a gun. But there is twice the murders and crime than the U.S. plus how do you not know if thay are selling to our criminals?
Only the timid legal gun owners will comply. Most hard nose patriots will not. they will just not register and hide them. So if the Congress get back to work. They should worrie about our debt more....

Hey, that's not fair. Obama has other thing to do...like get your guns!

One of the community culture center / gun control activism groups here in Jersey pointed out in a speech that domestic gun violence or suicide sometimes has a valuable early intervention opportunity: a trusted friend who has standing to say, "Looks like you are going through a rough patch there. How's about I hold on to your firearms for a while, until things settle down?"

I point out to them that, while I agree early intervention can be valuable, "How's about I hold on to your firearms for a while" can get their audience into legal trouble.

In Jersey, firearm transfer has specific legal criteria. Skipping involves a few felonies.
Schumer's UBC makes "How's about I hold on to your firearms for while" a federal crime.
Schumer really need to be open to fixes, allow firearms to be temporarily transferred or held in escrow, offer folks who recognize they can use help an easy way to temporarily separate themselves from their firearms, "until things settle down."

just take the guns and call the police ....
09:54 AM on 04/08/2013
by taking the gun, you have executed a transfer.  That will get you a few years in prison.if you don't have a firearm license, as required in NJ, that will get you a few more years in prison.once Schumer's UBC is in place, and you take the gun without a background check, you'll get a few more years in prison.

Yet look what Nancy Pelosi had to say when people said congress should take a pay cut:
"House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Thursday that she opposes a cut in congressional pay because it would diminish the dignity of lawmakers’ jobs.
“I don’t think we should do it; I think we should respect the work we do,” Pelosi told reporters in the Capitol. “I think it’s necessary for us to have the dignity of the job that we have been rewarded.”

This is like the best April Fools Joke .....99% of congress make so much money a year that giving up a few checks would not even faze them , this type of political posturing makes me sic , what she should do is give up all money until they really do their jobs ....Congress , the only job in America that you get paid to do nothing

Ah, the April Fools Day Recess is over.  I wonder how many tax paid junkets our Senators and Reps took during the last ten days while the President stayed in Washington and was slammed for a half day of golf and going to a basketball game.
