These things only apply when a Democrat is in office - or so they think......... claudiatucsonaz

These bastards have a lot of nerve, they didn't ask for this kind of "transparency" during the Bush adminstration. Anything they think is negative they will say against Obama and this administration.

And where were these Senators when Bush made the Presidency into a secret society?

I totally concur…so lets start with releasing all the documents and photo’s on torture, then lets move on to all the files on the illegal domestic spying, then we can look at the cover-up for going to war with Iraq, then hmm… then what lead up to the economic collapse that was denied by the last administration for over a year. Then there is the illegal kidnapping of folks in foreign countries…gee the list is getting long…but seems to focus on the LAST ADMINISTRATION!!

Gee, these Senators NOW want transparency? What a novel idea. Can''t wait to see how much transparency and accountability they will have the next time they are in power---God forbid>

I do agree with other posts that President Obama needs to keep his promise of transparency.

No, let's give them transparency and accountability, let's begin retroactively, beginning with the past administration. Oh they don't like it anymore, what a surprise...

When are we going to start disclosing all of the secrecy from the past 30 years? GWB managed to delay the presidential papers from the Reagan and Bush 1 administrations for 8 years. That gave the Republicans a chance to clean them up before they were finally released this year.

More Ratpig hypocrisy: "Do as we say, not as we did for eight years."

HEY you clowns, IF you had done this when george was in office, maybe people would be more acceptable to your 'supposed' outrage but as it stands, give it up, you had your chance and blew it.
11:32 AM on 09/30/2009
Ivdragonlady, I totally agree with you. This faux outrage is ridiculous! GW Bush got away with everything while in office and no one questioned his tactics. He said in one of speeches that he was the 'decider' but he decided us right into two unnecessary wars and a recession. Obama isn't giving these naysayer a second thought, he's sticking to the issues as he did during the debates and ignoring negative input.

And all he got away with was in detriment of the American people, against the Constitution, and for the enrichment of his cronies and corporate allies.
And he got away with an illegal war, ignoring New Orleans and destroying our economy.

Good one.
Once again, something that was considered "good" is now "bad", now that Obama is in charge...
"The changes kicked in JUST as Bush was leaving office..." I love it.
How "just" was it?
After Bush got to Crawford, kicked off his shoes, got a cold one, plopped himself in front of the TV,called the White HOuse, and said, "OK, NOW!!"?

Don't believe the Hype

This is something the White House should jump at. If they are doing the opposite of the previous administration, then there shouldn't be any worries about pulling the curtains back. But if they're hesitant to do so, it shows that this administration isn't that different from the last one, which is something that worries me.

What are you talking about ..?...

This article was about Congress not following Obama's lead and not opening up to more Transparency.

The Obama administration has already done a lot to pull back that curtain.

Canada tried the transparency route and it eas like pulling teeth. Besides politicians with much to lose, unfortunately civil servants believe knowledge is power and they are just as responsible for secrecy as their putative "masters."
