Inofe believes that the Newton shooting was all in the minds of the American people. It never happened.

this man along with all the naysayers on guncontrol get increasingly ridiculous, asinine and outrageous with their statements and action. they give any deprived person a bad name. my question to their favorite saying "guns do not kill people", is, if guns do not kill people, why do we provide guns to soldiers when they go to war...

Sen. James Inhofe R-- is arrogant and way out of line.. calling these victims brainwashed by the POTUS--- that's what he is saying with these stupid comments...

"the only reason those families think it does is because President Barack Obama told them it did.'

"See, I think it's so unfair of the administration to hurt these families, to make them think this has something to do with them when, in fact, it doesn't," Inhofe said."

He's the only one hurting these families... unbelievable this GOP.

Most Americans & law enforcement support... background checks, cracking down on gun trafficking and more school safety measures. It's COMMON SENSE! Which the GOP is lacking in--- they understand greed.

Actually your wrong. A new poll just came out that polled 15k law enforcement officers and they think it will have no effect or make things worse. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/04/09/Law-Enforcement-Poll-Obama-s-Gun-Control-Won-t-Lower-Violent-Crime-Armed-Citizens-Will

A Breitbart Poll? BAAAWAAAAHAAAA! The same poll that said Romney would win by a landslide? BAAAAAWAAAAHAAAA!!!!

Breitbart.com is a BLOG and notorious for putting out FALSE, misleading and outrageously skewed information. While alive, Breitbart received no credibility because of his unstable behavior and the fact that he was NOT a journalist and, therefore, like Drudge, was under NO obligation to print FACTUAL information. The people who have continued Breitbart.com have followed in his footsteps.

The man who takes soooo much money from Big Guns, Big Oil and a lot of other Bigs is calling the families of murder victims "pawns?"

Astonishing. May God forgive him -- because it's almost impossible for us humans to do so.

Remember, Inhofe is the coot who landed his plane on a closed airstrip littered with trucks and repair workers...all in the name of "Freedom!"
06:54 AM on 04/10/2013
Inhofe and those commenting here with their vitriolic selfishness prove there is no such thing as a Tea Party Patriot. Patriots respect the law, including the Supreme Court's ruling in Heller that the 2nd Amendment has limits as do all freedoms. A world with total freedom is a very dangerous place, which is why we don't allow driving 80 mph in a school zone. The more these folks expose themselves for the tyrannical positions they hold, the sooner folks will come to their senses and ostracize them from positions of power or relevence.

Twenty first graders lost their lives in the classrooms of Connecticut. Six Arizonans lost their lives coming to meet Gabby in Tucson. Thousands and thousands of citizens lose their lives to gun violence every year. We cannot allow James Inhoffe and 13 senators to deny those victims and their families the vote they deserve.
12:29 PM on 04/12/2013
And thousands and thousands of citizens protect their lives with guns.
Are you going to ignore THEIR opinions? Are you going to tell them that they should have been assaulted, raped, or killed instead?
06:27 AM on 04/10/2013
He is right. The only thing this had to do with newtown is it was the latest incident. Tragic as it was the left have been looking for a bandstand to parade on. I'm for background checks and proving who you are and taking safety classes. And if this doesn't stop voter fraud I don't know what will.

Quite possibly the most incompetent Senator in a crowded field.
06:17 AM on 04/10/2013
Would we still be having this outrageous debate if even one of the Newtown parents had decided to have an open casket at the funeral much as Emmett Till's mother decided to do for him after he had been shot and thrown into the Tallahatchie River after having been seen talking to a white girl?
What a sick country we live in when the lives of innocent children (and all victims of gun violence) are trumped by men who bark loudly and are backed by big bulging coffers of money??

Actually, I think I read that one family did. I heard a description of it and it was awful. I can't bring myself to Google Image search it -- it may not have been photographed. But your point is very well taken.

Actually publishing the crime scene photos would probably have the same effect. This is what happens when we let nuts get ahold of assault weapons and massacre children. This is the reality. It would be gruesome to see but it would get assault weapons banned for a 1,000 years.

Inhofe is a bit like other right wing crazies that make their living off of saying weird stuff. I do not think he means one word of anything he says.

He gets attention (as he does here) for talking insane.

Our politics has a few like him and our media has more, crazy talk is a testament to the fact that there is no thing better than bad publicity.

We should ignore him from now on. OK? The people in his home state need to consider getting someone worth the office. But I come from Florida and we have Rick Scott as Governor. What is the matter with the USA?

That Oklahoma dust has gone to his head.

Wayne LaPierre acts like a clowns at the circus - he gets the most attention. That's what he's paid to do, we wander what Sen. Inhoffe is paid to do if he is fillibutering simple vote in the senate .

• GOP aversion to normal bargaining and compromise .
• GOP inability to banish fringe people and views from the mainstream of the party.
• GOP almost comical lack of interest in substantive policy formation .
• GOP willingness to ignore established norms and play “Constitutional hardball”.
The American political system is not broken. What’s broken is the Republican Party. And it’s not clear how it will recover.
12:32 PM on 04/12/2013
Compromise seems to mean, "Do what the Democrats want." so, why should they compromise any more.
Dems not only don't banish fringe people, they advance them into more and more power
Dems took 4 years to merely present a budget...what was that about policy?
Dems seek to change established norms and then change the label to what THEY define as normal

But nice try.....
