Where are the membership roles kept for our well regulated militia that the 2nd amendment mandates?

I would like to know if I am signed up or not.
I would also like to get a copy of the regulations.
If there is no militia and there are no regulations then why are we letting all these people violate the Constitution by walking around unregulated.
One more thing. It says this:  A  Read More...

How phony the arguments of these senators. They vote against having debate. So even talking about background checks is off the table? Requiring background checks doesn't infringe on the 2nd amendment at all. These senators have only one major goal in life and that goal is to stay elected. They fail to lead.

ROFL, they are leading and protecting the millions and millions of people that voted for them.
Now you are so one sided you don't even have the time to think about what you just said, what a pity.
I would point it out to you but you would still debate a losing argument.
One fact is is that this so called bill doesn't even have the right to be on the table.
Now most gun owners are for back ground checks , its all the extras with-in the bill written and not written yet which is the problem.

Here is the explanation to the gun control crowd:

You got your watered-down feel-good bill, for celebratory purpose, a filibuster is included free of charge in order to make you feel even better when you finally get this completely useless bill...

Here's something to make you nervous. We're adding amendments that the majority of Americans support (like assault weapons ban). And, we're going to lobby the Senate and Congress to get it passed. This time will be easier than 1994.

They won't allow debate because they want to protect their NRA rating. Just who do these people work for and why are the tax payers paying their salary and benefits?

Obama is making a great step towards big brother and government control over the people! What is most impressive about it is he is doing it with much public support! I thought Obama was ignorant, but he is more clever than I gave him credit for!

theartistrandall - you are correct.....I have never accused obama of being dumb. That is what makes him dangerous. He has an agenda to destroy America and is smart enough to dupe his minions into following him without question. God help us.......

This isn't his bill. We're already doing background checks. We're just making sure they're done at gun shows as well. How is this government control?
11:45 AM on 04/12/2013
There's SUPPOSED to be government control! "Well-regulated militia" is part of the Amendment's language. Even if you give them a pass on the "militia" bit, guns are still supposed to be well-regulated.

What ? are you sane ?
Its a bill you want , just because you want it doesnt mean every one in this country wants it.
11:05 AM on 04/12/2013
For Obama to "Direct Atty. Gen. Holder to review criteria for gun ownership" is INSANE !
What could his objective possibly be? Between the two of them and their 'fast and furious' scheme to ACTUALLY SEND ARMS to mexican drug criminals on our southwest border, or the arming of muslim radicals in Syria (resulting in ANOTHER 9-11attack in Benghazi), or the highly publicized gift of twenty of the most technologically sophisticated fighter jets to the newly formed jihadist regime in Egypt, along with gifting them with approximately 3/4 Billion $ (surely to be used militarily against Israel ) yet- - YET - this traitor - this pretender - this violator of the oath of office he had no right to even swear - wants to register all gun owners by the backdoor approach of background checks . And the people who have been told how to think about this controversy by a strictly controlled media have fallen into lockstep with this jerk. How many times can it be said? This legislation will ONLY affect the legal rights of good citizens and will be laughed at by criminals and mental defectives. IMPEACH Obama NOW. - - For him to infringe our rights after HIS record of gun dissemination to the worlds WORST elements is utter hypocrisy and madness!
And rest assured if votes have ANY meaning - the legislators who go along with this agenda will soon be ousted.

Yes, answers, investigations and impeachment were sought out....but as is the standard operations for this administration NOTHING has been done. Now that they have the opportunity to strip Americans of their 2nd Amendment rights, obama and his minions are all about action.

Even Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia - one of the GOP's favorite justices - says there are limits to the 2nd amendment.  But I see the GOP isn't interested in hearing that.  Universal background checks to not hinder your right to own a gun, unless you're a criminal or mentally unstable - so which are you?

Bottom line is they are in debt to the NRA and the gun manufacturer lobbies which provide them with funds to get re-elected.

They do not allow the humanity of doing away with weapons and saving the lives of thousands of innocents to interfere with their main objective which is election to Congress.

Yesterday wasn't about the bill or bills , per se. Yesterday's was an existential question: will the US Senate do its job?
The result is yet to be seen and there are , of course , land mines ahead. But 68 Senators faced up to their job , and did it.

This is all smoke and mirrors.
The NRA owned Legislators will put enough poison pill amendments into the bill to ensure that it will go nowhere.
One of the NRA’s favorites is to totally suppress States rights regarding concealed weapons.
They will have an amendment passed that says if you have the right to carry a concealed weapon in your state, every other state has to allow you to carry concealed in their state as well, regardless of their legally passed laws.
If you can carry in Bozeman, Montana then you can carry in Times Square regardless of the states law.

I'd like that! As a concealed permit holder that's recognized in 34 other states, I think it's ludicrous that I would have to stop at a state's border that doesn't recognize it, unload my firearm, and lock it in the trunk separate from the ammo. Stupid, stupid, stupid....

So you believe that the state has no right to make any restrictions to what occurs with its boundaries?
So if I’m a Washington State citizen I should be able to smoke marijuana anywhere in the country regardless of any other states laws?
You must be one of those liberals!
A good Tea Partyer will always scream “states’ rights” when it comes to voter suppression, discrimination and so on.
