Obama better add the "Exit Option" to the "Pubic Option" and sell both to the American people because we need to get the hell out of that money-draining quagmire and let it devolve into whatever form of civil war it needs to undergo in order to stabilzie on it's own.

What emerges may not be a democracy to our liking, but at least we'll be the hell out of that religious desert hellhole.

This is all Bush's fault, yes, but now that it's Obama's job to clean it up, for someone famous for his pragmatism, he's not being pragmatic enough about making the ugly, tough call and getting us the hell out of Vietnam part 2.

Then if we can't leave, then what is the mission? What will be the cost? How will we pay for it?
02:44 PM on 10/05/2009
1. The mission is a pissing contest for the democrats to prove they aren't "soft" on defense.

2. Trillions

3. We can't.

What will be the cost? Hmmmmmmmmm!!!! How about a destabalized region that threatens the security of the United States that President Obama has sworn to protect.

i guess you were not around for viet nam ---when the commies were going to take over southeast asia if america didnt stop them ----well america did not win that war---and guess what the sky is still up there-----
03:13 PM on 10/05/2009
I see. There is no reason to discuss cost for how much a war will cost. Guess what the middle east was destabalized before we got there and it will be destabalized after we leave.

The question was how much does it cost? How do we pay for it? How do we know when mission is accomplished?

They are. All the no bid contracts that are being passed out. After all, we will be there forever if we have to do nation building and train the rag tag Afghanistan Army.

Obama = Epic Fail
02:50 PM on 10/05/2009
Your definition of "epic fail" differs greatly from mine. In two terms, Bush failed to capture Bin Laden, could not finish either of the wars he started, promoted the market collapse with his "homeownership for everyone" sub-prime lending scheme, encouraged us to spend tax rebates to offset rising fuel prices while the deficit grew, and celebrated McCain's birthday while New Orleans flooded. What has Obama done to even approach that level of failure?
02:56 PM on 10/05/2009
Continuing bush's two failed wars shows a disgusting lapse of competency. We're accomplishing nothing by being there and wasting trillions upon trillions of dollars that we desperately need in the US.

So yeah, epic fail.

Bush never wanted to capture Bin Laden. He was too important a tool to scare people and strike fear into the Home of the Brave.
