MIT police officer was killed because the SAC in Boston had not shown the suspects photo on tv with the full frontal view, had the full face been shown many of the students there at MIT would have called and said who they were. I guess the SAC wanted all the glory for the FBI so how does it feel MR SAC in Boston knowing that your glory hunting got this man killed? How many more because of your incompetence and glory hunting will die? FIRE THE BOSTON SAC.

Good observation, although I'm not sure about the "glory hunting" comment. I agree, they should've released the highest res images of the bombers possible. We as citizens need as much information as possible to make the best informed decisions. I have to admit though, I have noticed that law enforcement community seem to be less interested in the public safety, and more interested in their own law enforcement culture. Maybe you're right.

If that statement had a shred of truth to it, the officer would still be alive.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the Boston SAC?

Rest in Peace Brother. Your name will join my friends at the Memorial and I will visit you many times throughout the year like I do them not just during Police Week. You went 10-7 too soon and too young.

To many are on our law enforcement wall. I don't get down there much but there are more than a few I known or worked with that are there. Its a good feeling to know that there are many of us that will never forget. Take care brother.

An ultimate act of courage ans sacrifice by this heroic young police officer. And an ultimate act of disgrace and cowardice by these two brothers.

He died because the Boston sac did not show the full face of the suspects, had he shown the full pic the officer might still be alive because the students at MIT would have called the police and said who they were. FIRE the Boston SAC.

when it is your time to die, nothing will prevent it. Life and Death are in a race, as long as life is in the lead you live, when death catches up to you, you must defeat it or let it pass you by.

Did this young man ( Sean) carry a firearm? There are some Campuses that do not want or allow their Campus Police to carry a firearm.

If he did have a firearm, he may have had a few more laps left in the L & D race.

Good point. If he had a gun, the article might have have told about him trying to get it out, or shooting. Or was he the one that shot the bad guy?

Condolences to family of fine young man- Sean Collier. This was unnecessary death that could have been avoided if background check was made with strict gun control. Perhaps even background check would revealed culprits from bombing at the marathon.

Name the professors..and do you have proof of your statement. My statement is hypothesis that background check "could have" those culprits from having a weapon. Why this background check scare you to rant.

Rookie cops get killed way more often than experienced cops...for an obvious reason. It's a shame this officer had to die at such a young age, but he should have realized that he needed to be at the highest state of readiness he had ever experienced as a police officer given everything that is going down in the Boston area right now...and he probably failed to do that. Let's just hope that all the other rookie cops in America learn a lesson from this officer's premature demise.
03:14 PM on 04/19/2013
OUCH!!

"but he should have realized that he needed to be at the highest state of readiness he had ever experienced as a police officer given everything that is going down in the Boston area right now"

Second - were you there to see how ready he was????

"he probably failed to do that. Let's just hope that all the other rookie cops in America learn a lesson from this officer's premature demise."

The investigation surrounding this young officer's death is still under investigation, so you stop with your premature back-handed compliment crap.
