If the NRA is using Palin as a speaker and a draw, they are truly DESPERATE.
I lived in AK for 20 years and am horrified at her ignorance.
She does NOT represent the state, in any way, shape or form of the hard working people there living in tough weather conditions and paying the high cost of living having everything shipped there via barge.
I'll never forgive John McCain for his awful decision to claim her as his VP and bringing her to the media.
What an embarrassment she is, to such a beautiful state.

Well, think of it this way. If it wasn't for him she would have stayed on as gov and would have never left the state at all. And only Alaska would have known what a goofball you folks had. Now the country knows.

Oh Sarah, Sarah, Sarah. Your lack of any depth of intelligence still horrifies me.

Background checks are to make sure the terrorists, gun runners, drug king pins and the mentally ill have limited access to weapons. And these are your 'good guys"?

Good lord, won't this woman ever go away...listening to her over-wrought, cliche ridden banter is like fingernails on a chalkboard.

How about seeing it this way: Washington is responding to tragedy with some common sense solutions. Oh, wait, they voted those down. We can't win with things the way they are now. We need to amend the anachronistic 2nd Amendment if we are ever going to change things for the better.

If this was the best the GOP had to offer as a VP the party is definitely going out the window!

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
Madison wrote this to mollify the slave states.
By the way, the subject of the amendment is the first four words; the rest supports the subject.
I submit that, with over 200 million firearms in circulation, we are not well regulated; we are virtually unregulated.

Thanks for a very good post. These dolts in the NRA completely gloss over the well regulated militia, of which there aren't any.

"freedom is destroying itself."

Really? How so? Isn't owning a gun and protecting your family and self a freedom anyways? So, how's that destroying itself?
