I love Whole Foods. They support small local farmers and give shelf space to small makers of organic foods. YEA! Whole Foods!

Safeway puts people out of business and supports chemical farming and foods. Ever try to get a healthy dip there? It's all chemical.

Actually, no. Whole Foods is full of it. And "it" is not wholesome goodness.

I haven't stepped foot in our local WH since Mackey wrote his original op ed piece.

And, I always read positive posts about Mackey and WH with a bit of skepticsm...I wonder if it's Mackey himself pretending to be a happy customer.

Whole Foods just lost a customer - I'll never purchase from them again.

I'll agree that Bob Barr was a horrible choice for the Libertarians - he is hardly one, except I believe he is against the Drug War. Other than that, any vote against the two party monopoly system we have is a plus. The 2-parties have a lock on the laws they write to protect themselves from third parties. Most of the progressive changes in our history has been as a result of third party pressure on the Big Two. Libertarians do have a blind spot when they disregard the power of PRIVATE corporate monopolies.

That said, Mackey's right about Ron Paul and time has proven Paul was right about everything he said (and was ridiculed for) in the election: Wall Street Bailouts, The fall of the Dollar, Corporate welfare, military occupations, and Big HealthCare Non-Reform - Obama has done nothing about these. Obama seems to be on their team in fact. If not, he is one of the most weakest and fearful Presidents of modern times. As Gore Vidal has already opined, he appears to be incompetent. I see no fight in him to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable, as FDR had to take on the Plutocrats - Or JFK had to take on the military industrial complex. END THE FED!!

I have always felt that President Obama seems to have spent to much time at the University of Chicago.

Oh well, at least there is Senator Sanders.

This should explain my discomfort with the University of Chicago.

Yes, the University of Chicago is home to much of the plutocratic economics we have now. Of course, it was setup by the Rockefellers - so there you go.

On whihc planet do you spend most of your time?
06:13 PM on 10/15/2009
I live on Earth, unfortunately, in the United States, where it doesn't seem to matter who we elect President from either of the two MONOPOLY parties. MORE troops to Vietnamistan, FORCED purchase of flawed health care, MORE tax money to plutocrats gambling on derivatives of derivatives. Where exactly do you live? Do you even have your eyes open? Hopefully you can at least smell the napalm as freedom burns...

Love your attitude dude, LOL. Keep sticking your finger in the eye of the folks who shop at your store, I wonder how long you will remain in charge!

Whole Foods won't ever get a nickles worth of my business forever. If there's any stockholders, private or public, they need to get rid of this clown...duh!.

Kind of wish there was a Whole Foods near here so I could boycott it.

This statement is logically inconsistent. While Ron Paul would have been a great president, Bob Barr has been nothing but a facist for the last 30 years. Barr was one of the strongest supporters of the "war on drugs" as well as The Patriot Act! Regardless of what positions Barr currently espouses, the fact that he recently held ideas so repugnant should disqualify him from serious consideration for holding any public office. To pair him with Ron Paul, perhaps the most ideaologically consistent member of congress is just absurd.

Not on this planet. Sorry, but sanity is probably the #1 thing I look for in a president.

Ron Paul is nuts. He seems nice enough, and earnest, and sincere, and completely nuts.
05:09 PM on 10/15/2009
So Mackey, the CEO of WholeFoods supported homophobic Bob Barr? Libertarian my foot. Barr was a hypoctical rightwing republican that lost his seat due to an extra marital affair. What happened to the "sancitity of marriiage" Bob? My family and friends will continue to boycott Wholefoods until Mackey is shown the door. Fortunately, we really haven't missed it anyway.
05:07 PM on 10/15/2009
I'm sorry, Mr. Mackey. I must have inadvertently given you the impression that I give a sh*t what your political/economic philosophy is. However, now that you've revealed it, I'm even less inclined to shop at your overpriced little bizzznezzes.
05:02 PM on 10/15/2009
I don't know what that guy is eating in his store, but i want none of it. He looks creepy.
05:10 PM on 10/15/2009
He doesn*t have that shiny, phosphorescent glow you get from high fructose corn syrup, and partially hydrogenated oils.
05:19 PM on 10/15/2009
It's not about the food you may think Mackey eats. It's about the nonsense he regurgitates so gleefully. Bob Barr ??? Gimmy a frackin break.
