u. s. spends billions to liberate Iraq and Afghanistan Lol, our government forces it citizens to pay taxes to police the world. We can use bombings here to liberate the people of the U. S.. Taxation without Representation. Government too involved in corrupt money grabbing activities to represent the people. Would love to see a leader come along to lead the American people to freedom from this millionaire club government. Free to chose a religion and forced to follow a corrupt government's rules are not freedom. American people blindly follow the few who suppress Americans who know what real freedom is. Your only free in the U. S. if you do and agree to all they force you to do.

Do you realize what you just said. Do you think bombs are the answer?
09:57 AM on 05/21/2013
I'm so glad we can leave now and let them get back to killing each other.
10:57 AM on 05/21/2013

09:54 AM on 05/21/2013
Didn't we liberate these people? Thousands of American soldiers died there for what? Did American corporations get rich on their blood? Let them kill each other, they don't care about each other, why should we.

Political Correctness vs. Common Sense

STOP! You are both right......
10:19 AM on 05/21/2013
I think not. These people have been killing each other for thousands of years. The only thing that's changed is the technology.

We have wasted our youth .... and trillions $$$ between the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan ... get out and let them deal with it.
09:51 AM on 05/21/2013
Good thing we spent the amount of taxpayer money that we did and wasted the lives of our soldiers and brought many of them home broken and practically lifeless...good thing we have the stains on our collective soul of the blood of countless children and women from that invasion - seems like it was worth it to bring them "freedom and democracy." Hey, folks...was it really worth it? And as much as we blame these pieces of crap who occupy our government, isn't it really all of our responsibility? If not, then the concept of government of the people, by the people and for the people is dead, and we might as well urinate on its ashes...

Mission accomplished! This is the genius of our foreign policy, destroy a country, put radical Islamists in charge, bug out. Declare victory. What victory, other than oil company profits.
11:02 AM on 05/21/2013
OIL COMPANY PROFIT SURE THEY ARE SOARING HOWEVER THEY DO NOT COME OUT OF THAT REGION LAST I HEARD !

Iraq withdrawal outcome of Obama negotiating failure

We needed to keep a presence in Iraq, not just to provide a balance on Iranian ambitions in the region but also to assist Iraq in strengthening its own internal and external security. That’s why we needed to negotiate a continuous presence, not pull a yo-yo act that reduces our credibility and costs us time and money for no good purpose at all.
10:26 AM on 05/21/2013
A presence in Iraq is self-defeating. The U.S. armed forces are not a force for occupation. Look what happened to the Nazis when they tried to occupy so many territories at once, and look how effective our occupation force in Korea has been. It's a no-win situation, like so many of our "invade and leave" adventures have been.

Unfortunately with the Global Economy, that's next to impossible, but we don't have to send US troops every time something flares up.

I thought Muslims aren't supposed to kill other Muslims according to the Koran. There is nothing we can do to change these people. They have lived like this for hundreds of years. We just have to stop getting involved and just let them continue to kill eachother. Its the only lifesyle they will ever know!

Political Correctness vs. Common Sense
10:17 AM on 05/21/2013
Tribalism.
09:53 AM on 05/21/2013
For many hundreds of years European Christians killed one another. Are you unaware of the 100 year war or Thirty year wars featuring Protestants vs. Catholics? Or wars against 'heretics', Christian sects that did not conform to official Catholic doctrine? Or the Crusades, our first wars against Muslims? Read some history. We are all alike in our tribal allegiances, self-delusion, and capability for violent fanaticism.

Yea I know about that!  That was Hundreds of years ago though!  These Muslims are still living hundreds of years in the past and there is no sign that they are gonna change like other groups have!  Its time we just let them do what hey are gonna do and not bother them as long as they aren't harming us!
10:02 AM on 05/21/2013
What does that have to do with it, these people are still barbarians living in the 12 century.

war in the Middle East will never stop...countries against countries, religious groups against religious groups, men against women, good looking people against ugly people (most are)....hopefully the US stays away from it all, but if history repeats itself, we'll be in the middle of it all, why? because we "like" to be in the middle of stupid, irrational conflicts, spending trillions of dollars, while young Americans dying by the thousands....when are we going to learn to stay away from it all? never

One of the lasting effects of the Iraqi war is the fact that it removed the one man who had been able to keep a relative peace between the three religious factions in Iraq. Saddam didn't sympathize with any one of them, and had no tolerance for their infighting. They feared him enough to do very little of it, until we took Saddam out of the picture. There will be civil war there as long as those three groups can't get along, no matter which other countries are there trying to keep peace.
09:34 AM on 05/21/2013
So much for Obama's Arab spring, the Middle East is worse now than before B Obama. And may affect the world for years to come. Some legacy.

Another day, another huge death toll.
When will these people every learn to stop hating each other.
