Is any country doing good as far as the Economy? That's a awful nice looking Apache flying above the crowd. American made? American serviced? American fueled and armed? A poster boy for China and Russia to notice? They sure chewed up Saddam's tanks, from what 25 miles away?

obviously a huge portion did, and many Liberals and even some secularists. But apparently many were disillusioned with how he governed and it's the economy, stupid. But I'm just repeating what I heard and read.

Pretending we know what the monolitic "Egyptians" want, think, etc is ridiculous. Be quiet and watch.
06:29 PM on 07/05/2013
Way more than in the movie biz where the term was coined, in Egypt, now, Nobody Knows Anything. Anyone claiming he does is a fool or an ideologue. Even Egyptians don't know. Pretending we should (have) or now know exactly what to do is idiotic.

Wait a minute. You just told us to "be quiet and watch" and now you're talking again?!

Someone else posted that remark yesterday. Are you a parrot?

"...millions in the street don't represent all the Egyptian people..."? Obviously, they represented the majority of Egyptians who didn't want the Muslim Brotherhood to take Egypt back to the Stone Age with Sharia law.

Don't ya just love it? "Morsi Supporters Take To The Streets In Kabul, Afghanistan." Gee. I wonder if there is a connection between Islamist in Afghanistan and the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt? But then again, that would be like saying why does the Mexican Government make speeches about how the U.S. discriminates against Mexicans trying to cross illegally into the U.S.?

the mexican gov does. it also sticks it nose in to us courts

Much as I dislike Cheney, Morsi is uglier than Addington.

He was elected but started acting like he was above the law and anointed himself Supreme Leader. Sounds familiar.

His "demise" would mean he's DEAD! He's deposed, not DEAD, he's still alive. Holy mackerel!

Well he did say "Over my dead body". I guess it hasn't come to that yet

Morsi, the Brotherhood and other Islamists want a government for Egypt based on Islamic principles. The Generals want a secular government and one that causes them the fewest problems. For now, the Generals have all the guns and no outside country is going to interfere, to include, thankfully, the US. Let Egypt sort out their own problems. We should be able to have relations with whatever government the people of Egypt finally settle on.

The Army of Egypt has the character of a business corporation, with the maximization of corporate profits being of outmost concern. With Morsi's bad economic policies being overly concerned with the promotion of Family Values and Sharia Law and this eating into the army's bottom line, yeah, the board, one could say, took out the incompetent CEO.

I can't disagree with that characterization.

I see what you are saying but I am really curious how he was elected in the first place if the rest of the country don't want islamist government?

I saw a photo the other day showing a demonstrator brandishing what appeared to be an AK-47 assault rifle. Whether a MB or not, it invites bloodshed in the days ahead. It will not be a bloodless coup unfortunately.
