Hiro Ibrahim Ahmed looks also very good in her classic black outfit.

Lovely dress, but it's hard to see the sparkly trim with her hair down so the effect is muted.

The whole look is so...blah. Someone needs to introduce her to the concept of color.

Everyone in Paris wears black, especially in winter and fall; neutral colors in classic designs. As a rule, they do not splash colors about in their clothing. Simple and elegant, like their cooking and their meals. Really French cooking is not all that elaborate. A bottle of wine, a hunk of cheese, a slab of bread, and thou, cest'e magnifique.

nana...everyone in NY and SF and most of the women I know including me, wears black most of the time. A jeweler displays his most precious jewels against black!

As an aside, I'd love to see our President in grey, any and all shades of grey especially charcoal.

I hope Michelle doesn't pay any attention to that boring black dress. Michelle likes to take chances and is a very exciting sexual woman who is comfortable in her own skin.

Michelle is a grand American woman, tall, statuesque, with gorgeous African American features. She needs to dress for Michelle.

Carla is European and very pretty. She will dress her way.

Both are beautiful. I could not carry off either one's style. I am short, rather round or amply endowed, though not fat, and try to keep things simple because I have enough "fluff" and "stuff". I love seeing photos of both of these women and I happen to admire and like both of them. Of course, one is my First Lady and I happen to adore her. The other, is Italian born, which I appreciate as an Italian American, and French raised and I like her, what I know of her.

There are those who love color and those who do not. Why take chances when you can wear black and keep it simple and look elegant and sophisticated.

Michelle does what she wants to do and does not listen or care what others wear or say which is very obvious. We knew we were not to have style icon on election night. I'd like to hear a conversation with her as to why she wears those awful belts especially over sweaters and coats when most people wear them with a dress, pants or skirts. But over a sweater or a coat? And why doesn't she buy sweaters that fit? Just asking and don't care what she wears since I don't have to look at her in these awful outfits.

Bruni wearing a black dress. Now that's a surprise. NOT!

Wonder what she'll be wearing tomorrow? Could it possibly be a black dress? LOL.

About an inch and a half too long. It makes her look so much taller than her husband.
01:53 PM on 11/17/2009
no, knee-length is the Chanel's length. Coco Chanel used to say, that knees aren't worth to be showed because the most of the time they look ugly.
It's the reason Michelle Obama looks always better if her knees are hidden.

Carla doesn't care to be so much taller than her husband as Katie Holmes doesn't care to be taller than Tom.

For you a man has to be taller than a woman and a woman has to be younger than a man?

Actually Michelle has lovely knees and looks good when her hemline reaches just above the knee as long as there's no belt which cuts her off and at that point there's no proportion.

sometimes simple is better. you dont need big puffy skirts, patterns or belts. just keep it simple, easy and classic - you cant go wrong.

Is there outrage over those exposed arms?
01:55 PM on 11/17/2009
No, because in France they are not prude. You can expose what you want....
