Israel constantly releases Palestinian prisoners. That seems counter productive to me.

You will note, there is a logical reason why the Palestinians NEVER deem civilian Jews as "Collateral Damage". Even 3, 4, 5 year olds.

Targets are NOT collateral damage.
09:36 PM on 08/12/2013
Mr Obama why did you force Israel to release the murderer of an American?

Prisoner release for expanding settlements. Just a publicity stunt.

Netanyahu is not that benevolent.

"Fares noted that the number of Palestinians, including civilians, who were killed by Israeli troops... far outstrips the number of Israelis killed in Palestinian attacks."

Which perfectly summarizes the moral blindness that has driven this conflict.

Blindness to the difference between actions whose objective is to kill combatants and actions whose objective is to kill as many civilians as possible.

It is not widely known, but during the second Intifada, despite Israel's lopsided military advantage, more Israeli women were killed than Palestinian women. How did the Israelis miss so many times?

That's like saying:
"I tried to punch the wall behind your head, but your face got in the way. That's not my fault."
10:00 AM on 08/13/2013
Walls don't fire thousands of rockets at children.

Your analogy ducks responsibility in the same way as Palestinians do for their actions.

Menachim Begin as head of the Irgun blew up the King David Hotel killing 91 civilians. He was in charge as more than 100 Palestinains were murdered in Deir Yassin. He has a highway named after him.

Well, the King David hotel was because they thought he was lying when he said that they were going to blow up the hotel. Dar Yassin's "victims" mostly had guns and were shooting at the Jews at the time.

Whats usually never mentioned of course is 4 days after deir yassin, the Arabs massacred 78 Jewish doctors, nurses, students, patients, faculty members and Haganah fighters, and one British soldier in the Hadassah convoy massacre. Dozens of unidentified bodies, burned beyond recognition, were buried in a mass grave in the Sanhedria Cemetery.

The convoy was bringing medical and military supplies and personnel to Hadassah Hospital on Mount Scopus was ambushed by Arab forces.

President of PA, Mahmoud Abbas financed the Munich Olympic murders of 9 Israeli athletes and their coach….and Abbas has publicly 'honored' the mastermind of that atrocity, Abu Daoud, who sat on the Palestinian National council, and Arafat endorsed the attack. In 1999 Daoud openly acknowledged his role in the attack, in his memoir and in an interview w/al-jazera, as well as confirming the money came fro Abbas, and endoresement from Arafat.

ahlam tamimi, mastermind of sbarro pizzeria bombing, responsilbe for the deaths of 15, 8 of them children. she is not only happy about her part in it and the outcome…she was released during the shalit deal and was welcomed with a heroes welcome…cheers and palestinian flags being waived…on to lunch with khalid, to schools to talk children into 'following in her footsteps' and then given her own TV show on hamas afilliated TV.

there's a very long list of many thousands of Islamic motivated attacks,
affecting: The US, Argentina, UK, France, Spain, Australia, India, Israel, Russia, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, Chechnya, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Algeria, Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Morocco, Yemen, Uzbekistan, Gaza, Tunisia, Mauritania, Kenya, Eritrea, Somalia, Nigeria, Sudan, Ethiopia, Mali, Tanzania, Chad, Tajikistan, China, Nepal, the Maldives, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Macedonia, etc.

Especially, the bloody last decade of [over] 19,000 Islamic terror attacks (between 2001-2012)

So, want to play that game….I"M IN….Let's Go!

"In 2002 the majority were those children killed when the IDF randomly opened fire, or shelled or bombarded residential neighborhoods..Most of these children were killed when there was no exchange of fire and in circumstances in which the lives of the soldiers were not at risk." Amnesty international….KNOWN for their bias and lies…..like cynthia and mom….
Amnesty is to be taken about as seriously as the ISM or the UN….
not at all…….
10:23 PM on 08/12/2013
Between September 2000 and July 2007 according to OCHA, 69% of Israelis murdered were civilians. In the same time period, 59% of Palestinians murdered were civilians. In 2007, Palestinians killed twice as many Palestinians as the Israelis did.
You want stats. Let's start bombarding the board with stats.
300 children died in Cast Lead. At no point did Hamas ask if the children could be moved to a safer place. They had plenty of warning. They had plenty of opportunity to stop the war from happening but they couldn't even try to negotiate a safe passage for their children.
Amnesty International condemned them for their lack of care with respect to their own civilian population during Operation Cast Lead.
There have been plenty of incidents of Al Aqsa TV and mosques asking civilians to rush to an area that is being attacked by IDF forces.
I don't like war. It is always the women, children and elderly who pay the highest price but there is something more than sinistre in a group of people who have no respect for the lives of their own people and will sacrifice them in war.

First off, without context those "crimes" are meaningless. If they were not a target, and were killed because the Pals placed them in the middle of a firefight, the Pals are to blame.

You see, the difference is that posters like myself don't defend those things. We believe that if an Israeli commits a murder he should face punishment. And that context is important.

You, on the other hand, are actively spending your time defending people who butcher civilians with axes for the crime of being Jewish.

Nothing the US can say, do or pay for will change the Israel-Palestine situation. The billions spent, the lives lost and the many maimed in the Middle East has been a waste of American treasure. If for centuries these people haven't been able to figure things out and get along despite their religious beliefs there is nothing we, the US, can do to solve their problems.

Palestinians should be entitled to the same furor when one of the Israeli colonists who has exacted violence or death upon one of theirs is released from jail. That is; if the colonist ever actually went to jail for his acts of violence.

Without the United States Israel wouldn't exist, that means the U.S. is like a God to Israel, but true to their nature, they try to control the God without whom they wouldn't exist. What's wrong with this picture? Have Israel forgotten the commandment: Thou shall not thumb thy nose at thy God?
