Too bad a Democrat didn't jump on this first.

The Dems took away from the GOP the issue of who could be trusted on national security thanks to the Bush disasters  and that was a major get for them.
The GOP knew this so they started in with their lies about border security and Benghazi in order to play the refs (media) and confuse the public.

Can't someone explain to Sen. McCain, that he is just a senator? His opinion matters, a little.
01:39 AM on 09/15/2013
Yeah, but when his opinion is the same as mine, which rarely happens, I'm gonna sit back and watch. He is stepping outside the party war here for a good cause. Obama has to play the diplomat for world peace, but McCain doesn't. He can go ahead and say what the rest of us are thinking. He's not done fighting for our country yet. And I always love it when he stands up for Obama, while the rest of his party is focused on the one and only goal of bringing him down. I have to admire his respect for the office. He may disagree with a lot of the policies, but he doesn't act like a third-grade bully on the playground at lunch time. Or like a kindergartner refusing to play the game anymore because he lost the last one.

Excellent comments. McCain understands the reality of the world we live in because he's seen it up close and personal like few others have.

"Just another senator"??? I bet if you polled the entire Senate asking which among them has the most influence, McCain would come out at or near the top!

I admire a lot about John McCain but I'm opposed to involvement in Syria if it can possibly be avoid. McCain is for bombing and turning the tide for the rebels. The man is always in search of a fight.

At least you could get to see what a real man endured at the hands of Vietnamese torturers.

And the Russians will read it and just think "he's the guy who picked the lady who can see us from her house."

I'm afraid you're a little late on that one. I suspect the Russian's know Sarah Palin far better than Senator McCain primarily as a result of her much publicized comment. Given that, they're probably comparing the two, and claiming that birds of a feather usually flock together...

McCain wants so desperately to be president, or secretary of defense, or secretary of state...or relevant.

Here's an opportunity for McCain to set relations back 25 years.

Congratulations.

If McCain's goal is to respond to Putin then he completely misses the point he misses an opportunity to really reach out to the Russian people.

He's a bellicose old clown who doesn't speak for or represent the views of majority of the American people.

It is not McCain's place to attack Putin in Russian newspapers. Also to respond in kind justifies Vladimir's theater as legit. McCain lost his marbles and for more than one reason.

The older he gets the better McCain plays his role as one of the two old guys in the balcony in the Muppets.

Yeah, he should just bend over and take it from the Russians like Obama, a true leader for the free world. Give me a break, McCain's leg has more strength and leadership than Obama has in his whole being.

This is so silly and childish. McCain wants to stoop to the level of Putin to show who's the bigger jerk? It's like playing a game of "yo-mama is ..."

Putin has alienated all Americans with his comments. So, now one of our politicians wants to alienate all Russians with his clever comebacks?!?! That's counterproductive and just plain juvenile. We should be better than that engaging in high school taunts.

yeah I bet you thought the whole world thought you were exceptional.turns out u r only exceptional in ur abuse of power. someone finally told u the truth and u feel alienated. r u delusional?
