No better to stay in Colorado where the background radiation is three times as high as Japan

Shouldn't Japan be paying for all the damage on the American west coast? instead of spending money on the Olympics?

Meanwhile, Tepco admits to reporting false radiation levels for nearly 2 years at Fukushima.

This ongoing nuclear disaster at Fukishima is what Obama and SOS Kerry should be expending every ounce of US "power" decrying and rallying the world to stop. This is not only threatens US security but has placed the entire world in mortal environmental, economic, physical and genetic danger.

This is beyond Japanese ability and resources to solve. It is irreversible danger to our lives and our planet.

All blue fin tuna caught off our Western Coast already carry radiation from Fukishima. Instead of hysterical votes to bring war with Syria, why aren't Feinstein and Boxer screaming their outrage and protecting the people of their state (and its huge fishing industry) against this irreversible atrocity? Fukishima is the most serious nuclear catastrophe in history, yet our Senate, Reps, President and his "humanitarian hawkish" administration just sit by and let Fukishima poison our planet with these deadliest WMDs.

But how do you stop it? What resources that is not already available to Japan? Since the earthquake, nuclear experts all over the world has been consulted on how to handle the situation but the simple fact is, there is NO way to effectively handle a nuclear accident involving THREE reactor core total meltdowns. Human technology has evolved enough to build nuclear power plants but not enough to control the aftermath if (when) they decide to melt down. The US cannot fix this. They cannot bring anything to the table the Japanese do not already have. It is not fixable.

To the press, they must mean.

Wouldn't be surprised if a few countries boycott the Olympics. Irresponsible of the PM to lie.

What were they thinking giving the 2020 Olympics to Tokyo? My heart goes out to the citizens of Japan, of course, but if I were an aging athlete -- never mind the promising new kids -- I would "go nuclear" over this. And I DON'T mean by competing in Japan!

All I know is that at a recent west coast meeting of technology investors and the like, my friend (who was an attendee) told me all the seafood was flown in from the east coast. And the talk was that within 2 years they would be replacing sushi with beef tar-tar.

Dilution as a solution to pollution was debunked by experts long ago. The current batch and the American consultant are therefore not trustworthy.

A previous article has these "experts" planning to pump the contaminated water into the ocean, on top of what's already leaking due to their inability to control the problem.

That's not a plan.

By design, it would make the radioactive contamination of our shared resource much worse.

These people need to be fired.

We used to say it as a joke (dilution is a solution to pollution). Only as a joke. Sad that it was ever taken as a solution and had to be "debunked".

I wouldn't believe anything this guy or anyone associated with this plant (outside of the beleaguered workers) has to say. My gut says this mess ain't over yet and will put Cherynobel (sp?) to shame. This is one Olympics I will be happy to pass on.

Sometimes a gut feeling can be accurate, but do you have any facts to back you up? Why do you think Fukushima is worse than Chernobyl?
