Say "NO" to them, Mr. President.
The deal also involves a PERMANENT RESTRICTION for Treasury to use whatever means are necessary to pay the country's debts when this 6 week extension of the debt ceiling is over.

This is another trick by Boehner and his T Party caucus.  They are trying to open up the parts of government and keep  Read More...
Republicans got themselves and the country into this mess.   Republicans can find a way out of this mess.  Boehner could have avoided this Republican Government Shutdown all together, but he wouldn't do it.
T Party people were sold a bill of goods by their elected members of Congress and by Cruz cruzing down that Misinformation Highway and telling them that  Obamacare would be defunded or repealed.  It's not happening.  Boehner shut down the government and the ACA is still working.

Boehner continues to cater to a group of people that 2% of Americans agree with and who represent 18% of Americans in Congress.  They are a minority of the minority.
Let Boehner open back up the government that he closed and raise the debt ceiling before agreeing to anything from Republicans, Mr. President.  That's what the majority of Americans elected you to do.

Obama is one hell of a politician.

My guy tells Reid, I will say yes, and you tank the proposal.
This way Obama looks as if he is negotiating. Negotiating with a card up his sleeve and that card is Reid with a Joker's hat on.

LOVE IT. Because F the GOP - they can't buy everything.

Fight GOP TACTICS with GOP TACTICS.

My kind of leader.

Let's also not forget that Reid and Boehnewr made a deal a few months ago. Boehner gave his word that if Reid would cut $70 billion from the Senate budget, the House would pass a clean CR without any language in it to defund the ACA. Reid cut the $70 billion and sent the CR to the House. Boehner lied about signing a clean CR, and added on wording to defund the ACA.

Let's be real here. The GOP hates the pigmentation of this President's skintone more than they do this President's policies and political opinions. He is like a "cancer" to them. They would rather just kill the patient than try to treat or cure the disease.

Lets hope our collective conscience of greater moral, emotional, intellectual l& spiritual consciousness maturity will have reasoned our minds at the ballot box next year & put an end to a political value system which only serves the ruling class plutocracy which has no future for the greater good of country, family & community, and begin the great work of turning the culture of empire they so embrace, to one which demonstrates our capacity to live in harmony with prosperity & realize the real wealth benefits of organizing our lives around living which represents the full potential of our humanity & our democratic ideals.

What they have done is nothing short of collective psychopathic criminal behavior against the American working families of America who work hard and play by the rules.

For us to be held hostage by people who put idolatrous worship of money, above values which honor life, human dignity, and moral conscience proves all the more the nature of where Empire is headed.

I hope it is the emotional & spiritual sickness represented by the radical extreme elements of people who attached themselves to the Republican party to create hate, discontent, & social economic suicide on the American people are rooted out at the ballot box, inl the 2014 elections.

If ever a real change we can believe in comes about, it will be the Republican radical right collective swan song exit, as we move forward into a world their philosophy could never hope to embrace.

Particularly when you consider Republican values which honor "Self" & the idolatry worship of fiat money & material excess, and policies which serve the ruling class plutocracy & the military industrial complex of Imperialism. in place of generating human values which honor life, family & the greater welfare of our communities & the planets web of life living systems to build greater health, happiness & well being of families that transcend to the greater good of our communities.

After all the GOP/Tea Party shenanigans over the last few years, one would hope the President would realize this is yet another ploy and would instead hold the line...

If he bends to the GOP/Tea Party, as he's often done in the past, the catastrophic result to this country would become even more egregious... which seems to be (unfortunately) the path the Tea Party would like this country to take...

So to the continuing gridlock of the GOP/Tea Party... what is it Nancy Reagan said?...

"Just Say NO!"

Have anyone notice that all the stand alone bills the republicans keep trying to pass are the same bills they keep cutting. They cut the headstart funds, fema, milittary bills veterans bills, etc.they wanted to do them all one by one and it would take forever and half of them couldn't remember voting on any of them, at least they pretend they don't.

That is not good news. Those cuts are to the earned benefits programs that people rely upon.
Obama is wrong to agree to accommodate these people. It's strategy of weakness that ignores the fact that he has real power that he can exercise to set the country on a better course.
He does not have the support of Congress in chaining the cost of living increases and other underhanded ways to cheat people out of what they have earned and what they deserve. He is wrong in his attitude and dealings toward the extreme right.
" All ideological, theological and political debates with the radical Christian right are useless. It cares nothing for rational thought and discussion. Its adherents are using the space within the open society to destroy the open society itself. Our naive attempts to placate a movement bent on our destruction, to prove to it that we too have “values,” only strengthen its supposed legitimacy and increase our own weakness."

"Republicans drafted a long list of demands to accompany any increase in the debt limit, including some that would raise the cost of Medicare for better-off beneficiaries, make changes to the health care law and roll back several environmental regulations"

Notice, nothing here addressing jobs and the economy. What it address is the GOP's continued service to corporate elite by taking benefits away from the elderly and removing regulations which protect the people, while allowing industries like that of the Koch Bros. to pollute even more and increase profits.

The GOP's response to the current economic crisis is the same as in the past 30 years: cut taxes and regulatory oversight of business. That response stands even now, when the economic situation is a very unusual one last seen 80 years ago. The GOP wish you to believe that they actually believe the BS they speak. Understand that the working class create the demand for product by earning the funds to purchase. Corporations are sitting on record amounts of idle cash), the tax breaks are a very inefficient way to encourage new capacity. A capacity that the working class can't afford. The tax breaks would apply to all existing investments, so businesses and investors would have their taxes reduced even if they didn't invest a single penny in new equipment or ventures, so they aren't.

Reaganomics has never worked, I don't care how many times they say its so. Its what economist considered during the Great Depression and rejected.

You got it. I mean you have to have rocks in your head not to realize their policies & philosophy of life does not serve the health & welfare of our families & our communities to build a better world & live in balance with each other & our environment to enjoy greater prosperity, happiness & our humanity, but a philosophy that is destructive of life on its face.
They more than anyone have fallen prey to their own ignorance of divide & conquer psycho-social propaganda designed to create dissension among the whole of the population by putting policy issues that relate to the pursuit of happiness & the welfare of our people, to issues which deal with issues designed to ignite division which have little to do with what most all living beings could agree on.

Like building a better world for everyone.

Why would anyone not care about having clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, a safe working condition, policies which unite cooperation, rather than trying to compete against each other which become full of waste, fraud & abuse?

There are on its face when you examine their political philosophy policies which symbolize nothing more than cutting off your nose to spite your face, to the destruction of the environment you live in, the place you work in, the food you eat, the water you drink, & the web of life they are bent on destroying over the idolatry worship of money & material excess which only serves a small class of people rather than equality for every member of society.

That is representative of the purest most insidious form of "selfishness" there is & psychopathic top boot.

These values do not represent the best of our democratic ideals & our humanity that will help builds a better world, but destroys it.

Saving the planet, is analogous to the elimination of the Republican Party at all costs.
It’s that simple.

Their arguments are hollow because they cannot argue against values which honor life which they dont represent.

They have lost all moral & ethical decency by any measure to exist, not in today’s world of diminishing energy & natural resources & a shrinking of living wages & your purchasing power.

Yes, it all is obvious to a objective mind that the GOP is unable to define itself, other than the apparent subservience to the wealth of corporate robber barons. So how is it that there are still those who refuse to see. Its certainly not about a political ideology. For neither the extreme right of the Republican party nor The Tea Party adhere to any guideline or code of party other than allegiance to party and opposition to democracy. Oh, the TP uses the sound bytes of the Libertarian ideology about individual freedom and small government, but their deeds are really no different than their fellow Republican's.

Has society become so blind that alliance to a political party is like that of the local ball team, yet even worse, that no matter how ruthless the campaign, no matter how many lies are told, no matter how deceptive is the rhetoric and the destruction to the society it is sworn to serve, they simply refuse to accept the obvious?

I normally would refrain from any likeness of use of the familiar tools of the GOP and Fox News, demagoguery; false patriotism, bigotry, fear, selfishness and belligerent religiosity. However it appears to me that the GOP has used the tactics of Hitler's "Mein Kampf" as the campaign playbook and allowed it to degenerate into the norm of the GOP's psychopathy.

By a 22-point margin (53 percent to 31 percent), the public blames the Republican Party more for the shutdown than President Barack Obama – a wider margin of blame for the GOP than the party received during the poll during the last shutdown in 1995-96.
