Only "sensitive and creative people" get it. Reminds one of another pseudo-religion (think Tom Cruise).

In meditation, the agni chakra can be awakened (the pineal gland) and produce more melatonin. Stress reduces melatonin production.
Those wanting a deeper meditation might like to try 3mg melatonin just before sleep.

Quantum physics and string theory try to expain "God" conscienceness. In string theory, it is explained that everything is connected. This is why God said, I am, that I am... If you repeat that all day you will come to realize what he meant! Their are four new races of children being born, in each one a new seed is planted to produce a quantum leap of children that will become more aware of this God conscienceness, or quantum reality. There are two books I will recommend that explain this. The Book of Mary, and The Sophia (wisdom) of Jesus. One could also google Edgar Casey, and learn how he was able to excess the Akashic records, (The rememberance of God). I will leave a link below where you can read these books. It is a big site, so scroll down half the page to see where you are.

Oh good, I was afraid that string theory had been left out of the picture. Adding that extra information will make everything clear.

Are we talking about string theory, silly string theory, or string cheese theory?

Edgar Cayce, not Casey, for those looking to google. Thanks for the book suggestions!

"Only in spiritual, religious, or mystical experience does such information penetrate to our everyday awareness -- and then, just fleetingly."

And, amazingly, these fleeting and subjective experiences are experienced as more real than the persistent and shared perceptions that we equate with everyday life. How does one explain momentarily and spontaneously falling into the infinite and timeless, humming consciousness of a leaf and suddenly sensing no difference between the time before one was born and after one is dead and being equally unafraid of both? Or the brief synchronicity of infinite time and space within two words that resonate from within every cell of one's body? There is no explanation other than atypical delusion or the inadequacy of our current models of perception.
08:26 PM on 04/13/2010
The explanation lies in the power of the imagination and language. The experiences you refer to have a deeply emotional and subjective aspect. Science has nothing to do with our emotional, poetic, spiritual and philosophical responses to the world. Science can't say whether the world is good or bad. That's not a knock on science; it just isn't its job.

The kind of "explanation" that helps us cultivate experiences of deep significance is a practical guide, not a piece of physics.

Criticism from people who have not participated is valueless, just as one would discount someone's opinion on the existence of cells who had not examined tissue with a microscope....

How did it go from something which takes place in the brain to only religion being able to understand it?

>Only in spiritual, religious, or mystical experience does such information penetrate to our everyday awareness -- and then, just fleetingly.

He just got through saying that the evidence was found in the lab, in the preceding paragraphs. I think its a god or "consciousness" of the gaps argument. Science doesn't have the exact answer I want so it must be something for which there is no evidence, or at least doesn't fit with the theory used to postulate the argument in the first place.
04:32 PM on 04/13/2010
So when is this change going to happen? What will trigger the brain shift in an entire species?
05:02 PM on 04/13/2010
If there is going to be any collective consciousness it will be the network of women. Women have access to God's own network which is where we get our souls from when we were conceived inside of our mother. It's the source of most of the super-secret female jedi/ninja powers.

Any woman who believes in God will be able connect to it. Women will think equally in logic and emotion and be able to talk with God. The women will take charge and it will be the beginning of a new era.

If only somebody could explain to the women of the world how to do it...

I've always wondered about those super-secret female jedi/ninja powers!

Funny thing about this network of women and their connection to God: it is pretty unevenly distributed! It seems that while some women are perceptive and intelligent others are about as insightful as a box of hair.

Funny, the same can be said about men.

So it's pretty clear this isn't Science, but if it's religion, where is it coming from? Most religions at least cite "divine revelation" (God spoke to me!) as the source of wisdom. If you can't make that claim, then aren't you simply making this all up?
05:26 PM on 04/13/2010
And the people who say "God spoke to me" aren't making it up?

"According to received wisdom, the things and events that make up our experience of the world originate in the world. People and things around us reflect light and make sound; for the most part they can be seen, heard, touched, smelled, or tasted. The corresponding signals reach our eye and ear in the form of waves in the electromagnetic field, in the air, and in the physical, chemical, and biological fields in and around our body. Our exteroceptive senses transform this information into nerve signals, and the signals are analyzed, sharpened, and interpreted by our brain. The result is the experience that appears in our consciousness."

Well, there ya go!

In short, we're still learning about sensory processing; it's a complex process that occurs in the brain and central nervous system. The suggestion is that there are external events, such as the movement of electromagnetic fields, that some people, such as an intuitive or empath, can perceive in the way that some people have a hyperacute sense of smell or hearing. If sound is energy in waves that move the air that we perceive through receptors in the ear and process in the brain (you can have perfectly working receptors and yet have dysfunctional processing of the signals), then perhaps some people are taking in and processing information that eludes others.

Again, an excellent explanation by Ervin Laszlo. And I quote, "But Cade also found a "fifth state." This is the remarkable state that comes to light in the EEG-portrait of accomplished healers. Cade called the consciousness associated with this state "awakened mind." Here alpha and theta waves are strong, much as in the meditative state, but there are also beta waves. In some healers this state has become the norm, maintained not only during active healing, but also in everyday life."

Regarding your last sentence in this paragraph: I concur; however, this is also the state that Spiritually "enlightened" souls live in on a daily basis. They live almost "continually in the now," or the present moment. This is the gift of God to those who practice deep meditation and have reached the "heavenly state of Consciousness," which I describe in my book, "A Trip Into the Mystic Mind." There is so much we don't know ...

Is so-called psychic or clairvoyant consciousness available to everyone? Do you have to have a gift? Or a special brain state? Can these abilities be developed? Or do you simply turn the dial to another radio station?

And what of potent psychopathological states? Are they real? Are schizophrenic experiences just another shift in frequency, another turn of the dial? And how do we differentiate religious and spiritual experiences or hallucinations from schizophrenic ones?

Is is true that some of the most 'gifted' poets, artists and musicians were experiencing bipolar disorder or tripping on some drug like LSD?

What is reality then? How can we define 'true reality' at all?

"SoulTherapy" In answer to your question in your first paragraph: The answer is Yes. Please take the time to visit my website: http://www.psychickaren.com

In my book, A Trip Into the Mystic Mind, I go into the hallucinations of the mentally ill as they contrast to those of the higher states of consciousness.

Almost anyone can practice meditation which can lead to a shift in consciousness, can change our perception of reality, it's cause and effect, a belief in a religion or a universal consciousness is irrelevant in my opinion, it takes discipline and practice.

"ZYZipster": I agree with you that you do not have to be affiliated with any "religion" nor do you have to read any one else's perceptions [in order to reach these higher dimensions]. However, once you have had the experiences [revelations], it is nice to know that others have had similar experiences.

If its totally unsubstantiated speculation what does it add? Or I guess if it were billed as "this is just supposed to be poetry" or something like that I would just completely ignore it, but it pretends to be grounded in science when its not.
