The Republicans can no longer lay any claim to any kind of moral high ground. Their actions (or at least the results of their policies) are clearly evil. I hold them all personally responsible (jointly and severally liable) for the disaster in the gulf: It is getting to be more than just a little annoying anymore, conservatives in general are ruining the planet and robbing the populace! Take a look a this: http://pltcldscsn.blogspot.com/2010/05/senator-lisa-murkowski-in-favor-of.html

In summary: F Rand Paul!

What an ABSOLUTE idiot!!

Being "ideologically pure" is one thing. Having no common sense is another! Expecting me to sit by and take you forcing your stupid ideology on everybody's kids and the world is another!!

Even Greenspan admits the view that the philosophy is one thing, but the reality another!

Corporations, that enjoy monopoly power, do not behave in the best of interest of anybody but themselves -- not even of their shareholders!
(contrary to the BS you will be taught in Business School -- yet another lie they teach)

It is time to move to ensure corporations do NOT destroy the world for future generations!!

The vast majority of people should not all their apologists, if that includes Rand, to stand in the way of that -- period!

Greed has taken over in the form of unregulated capitalism. Basing self-worth on net worth is a fatal mistake. Healthy self-esteem is a result of service to others, not service to self.

Some people just have an unfillable void....like a hole in their hearts or souls...that they mistakenly believe can be filled with material wealth. But material wealth is incapable of nurturing the heart/soul.

Do not misunderstand, I'm all for someone earning a very, very good living, but how many millions of dollars does one need to enjoy a really good life? An unchecked ego never gets enough material wealth; it will always remain unsatisfied and unhappy because the
ego is totally selfish. It denies the existance of the soul because it is spiritually bankrupt.

The prevailing Republican mentality demonstrates a choice of "service to self"
not "service to others".

Rand Paul and the Tea Party Nazis are equivalent to the rise to power of the Third Reich. These people are racist, xenophobic, homophobic, armed, and extremely dangerous. Ironically, despite their extremist social beliefs, many of their ideas on smaller government, making a radical shift in foreign policy, auditing the Fed, and ending the so-called Drug war resonate with my own beliefs. Yet, I find it very disturbing, if not offensive that this David Duke clone would have the audacity assert that the President of the United States could hold the White House, but should be barred from the local Kentucky derby, Walmart, or McDonalds.

On the other hand, I am quite thankful of the emergence of the racist Tea Party, as for too long Americans were playing a dangerous game of political correctness, while ignoring the 800lbs gorilla of racism alive and well in the USA.

Also, the rise of the neo-Nazi Tea Party has made the boggie man politics of Al Queada/Taliban irrelevant. The most dangerous unAmerican factions are right here within the borders of the US, and they are prepared to act violently and aggressively during this economic moment in history. I see no difference between the Weimer Republic/Third Reich or 2010 America/Tea Party. The condition are very similar, and in moments of chaos, there are always groups really to seek out scapegoats to rise to power.

Buyer beware...

You going to the extreme a bit, huh? Nazis or teabaggers....hmmmm.....lets weigh that one out. Nazis definitely have them beat. Yeah, goosestepping genocidal maniacs always take the cake.

The beginnings of the German Nazis were very gradual and weirdly similar. They started as a small minority party and slowly wore down the opposition, never getting more than 30% of the vote until the election of 33 when they barely broke 40% even though they had managed to imprison most of their opposition. And so a center right coalition is what gave Hitler his dictatorial powers subsequent to this.

I used to think of myself as a Libertarian. Not so much anymore. Too many extremist Objectivists that think that there is some sort of Utopian Free Market America that can be had out there.

Rand Paul's comments really exemplify that sort of wrong thinking. The Civil Rights comment, for example, was not him being racist. It simply is that he believes that there would be business owners that would swoop in and sell to minorities, etc. and so the other businesses would have to follow suit if they wanted to compete.

And this line of reasoning is all well and fine, and it should work. Except people are not rational actors. You have tea baggers on medicaid, and social security, protesting government hand outs. The poor supporting Republican politicians that are actively trying to screw them over.

So yeah, the Objectivist ideal sounds all nifty on paper, but this isn't some piece of fiction we're living in. This is the real world. And it's full of people. And they're all batsh*t insane. Like Rand Paul.

Libertarians always seem to have this chip on their shoulder that says, I'm fine and so should everyone else be if they just work for it. You're totally right, the cut & dry thinking of that wing is so easily dismissable. It's difficult to not dismiss it.

Did Paul learn the wrong lessons from his father's failed campaign, or from Palin's? Or does he think that any publicity is good publicity? Without a record to stand on, it is hard for him to argue substance.

Good Morning !!

As Bush might say, you misunderestimate your opponent. Pare of their natural resource is their strategic location, their land that is necessary to run a pipeling into Europe so that the wealthy can capitalize on the natural resources from Iraq and Iran as soon as we figure out how to relieve them of their natural resource. Oh they have a lot more than poppy fields, that's just icing on the cake for those in government that deal in the drug trade. 0 ;-)

Code breakers.... When a teabagger says "American" what they mean is "corporatist". "Un-American" = "Anti-corporatist". "Real Americans"="willing slaves for corporations".

You Rand Paul, are a Traitor to all the real Americans who Died in the BP oil explosion, and to all the people in the USA. It was because of Republican deregulation and careless inspection of oil drilling sites the "accident" happened. Rand Paul, Tea baggers, and all their followers, should hang their heads in SHAME for all the disrespect and insensitivity and lies you apply to the people on the Gulf coast who have to suffer through the oil spill, and to all the USA nation for you disgusting behavior against them and the PRESIDENT. You all should get the hell out of the country if you don't like nothing about it or like anybody in it!!!

Thanks Bostontru2u :
For the respect of the Human Beings that died and are missing in the Gulf Oil BP Disaster ! Being an Oil worker is a dangerous job and Oil Corporations must have Regulation of Laws for Inspections, just like McDonalds the Fast Food Chains must be inspected
for cooking beef burgers and not deer burgers !

Is it not unamerican to criticize an American President for criticizing a foreign corporation ? All three companies involved in this environmental disaster have corporate headquarter in foreign countries (including Halliburton).
